A leaning towards the abstract and the obscure is always welcome at CLUB Pelicon.

Young Turks’ electronic offshoot, Whities, has released without doubt some of the most beautiful and intriguing music since its inception almost 4 years ago.

Curated by former Boiler Room programmer & NTS regular Nic Tasker, the label has given established artists opportunity to explore unfamiliar styles and provided a platform to bring fresh new faces with incredible talent into the public eye. With all label signees demonstrating a significant impact on the world stage this is a testament to both their artistic flair and Tasker’s brilliant foresight.

Line-up: Amelia, Tasker, Jules Venturini, Vladimir Ivkovic
Video Installation: Alex McCullough & Olivia Pringle

Vladimir Ivkovic

Salon Des Amateurs resident and curator of the timeless Offen Music output, the anomalous Vladimir Ivkovic is renowned for his aberrant selections, pushing the boundaries of musical creativity with mind-bending consequences. Hotly tipped by the likes of The Ransom Note & The Guardian plus becoming a regular feature on the line-ups of Dekmantel and De School, this musical divergent is clearly one to watch.

RA Podcast:

Jules Venturini

Making his name initially within the caverns of dark, industrial techno under the ‘Catch’ alias for South London Analogue Material, Jules Venturini demonstrated his versatility with a refreshing EP for Whities featuring shimmering, cerebral electronica with satisfying bleeps and stirring arco violin strokes. Jules covers a broad range of musical styles reflected in his sets containing dusty, forgotten obscurities & frenzied oddball techno.

Flying Kites:

Amelia Phillips

Already well respected for her contributions to music journalism through imprints such as Crack Magazine and as a label assistant for the hallowed Warp Records, Amelia Phillips has an extensive musical knowledge and impeccable taste. She constructs immersive soundscapes and creates a journey through the murky waters of dark ambient, post-punk and abstract techno.

Label boss Tasker completes the line-up.

Accompanied by a visual installation from Whities art director Alex McCullough and collaborator Olivia Pringle.
