
Affected by DJ’s like David Alvarado, John Aquaviva or also Joey Beltram Karmarouge Records founder and A&R manager Alex C. Multhaup decided to dedicate himself to DJ’ing with large passion by having his first gigs in various local clubs. In 1997 Alex Multhaup opens his first club “Space Station” in Hoexter, somewhere deep in Ostwestfalen. This was also the the place where Alex Multhaup and Gabriel Ananda met for the first time, which was the beginning of their friendship
In 1998 Alex Multhaup and Gabriel Ananda produced their first joint 12″ ‘Da Hairy Belafontes’, released on the German imprint ‘Hörspielmusik’. Besides the North-Rhine-Westphalia youth culture price ‘Arts and Music’ was awarded to Alex C. Multhaup. Afterwards he founded his Headquarter in Cologne, played as DJ on various events and launched Karmarouge Records in 2000. Also a many people appreciated his ‘Androgyn’ events in Cologne. With the musical variety and openness of ‘Androgyn’ Alex Multhaup showed that a Club Night can be far more than just dancing through the night.
As the resident DJ of Colognes well-known location ‘Artheater’ he skillfully fuses in his sweeping DJ-sets driving grooves, complex rhythms and surprising breaks up to totaly emotion. Alex C. Multhaup plays in his sets from popular pumping minimal house up to dry thumping techno and from “octave-bass-action” up to freestyle sound everything wich grooves and is definetly a guarantor for consistent and proper styled house rocking. As the genius DJ-partner of Gabriel Anandas live sets, Alex C. Multhaup describes his own style as “an emotional mixture of hot red sounds and tones, with love and passion for spherical-spacy sound collages.” He’s the man performing the “Rock-mir-das-Höschen-Sets”. Alex C. Multhaup has already appeared on Karmarouge and Hörspielmusik.
