
In 1997, Ivan created 'Black Strobe' with partner Arnaud and released 'Inner Strings' on Trevor Jackson's Output Recordings. Following the demand for their distinctive sound they went on to release 'Me & Madonna' & 'Chemical Sweet Girl' again on Output and the rare 'Paris Acid City' on Source.
Black Strobe are currently one of the most in-demand production teams in Europe, having provided remixes for the likes of Royksopp, The Rapture, Tiefschwarz and Playgroup amongst others. Ivan Smagghe, one half of Black Strobe, is one of Europe's most respected and popular DJs, and was Jockey Slut's best DJ of 2003.
