Bronnt Industries Kapital

Cinema has always been the backbone to Bronnt Industries Kapital, the musical vision of Bristol-based composer Guy Bartell, which features long-time collaborator Nick Talbot of Gravenhurst. Bronnt's first two albums on revered UK indie Static Caravan Virtute et Industria and the most recent one, Häxan (Bronnt's bespoke soundtrack for the 1920's silent witchcraft movie revived by Tartan DVD) demonstrate a compulsion to view the antique through the contemporary, and meld the heartbreaking with the absurd.

New album Hard For Justice, to be released on Get Physical in April 09, celebrates early 1980s vigilante films, low-budget sci-fi, exploitation and horror, drawing inspiration from period soundtrack pioneers such as Fabio Frizzi, John Carpenter, Goblin and uniting them with impeccable 70s Krautrock grooves and thrilling C64 electronics. Gone are the desolate landscapes and creaking shadowed bedrooms of Virtute; the battle ground has been cleared and consecrated. Bronnt have swapped the catacombs and war memorials for a sleazy flea-pit cinema. Open all night, it serves thundering Krautrock and Italo disco funk; squalling synth lines and scattershot drums. Thematically it is influenced by the idea of vigilantism in cinema, films such as Assault on Precinct 13, The Warriors, Deadbeat at Dawn, Exterminator etc. X-Rated and wrapped in chewed up video tape, this is the sound track to the whole world of straight-to-video movies. File under Psychotronic.
