COTTON CAKE DJ TEAM 

Cotton Cake are Mehdi Dadrass, Jamie Young and Danny Cairns. Founder members Mehdi and Jamie have been dj'ing and putting on parties for a good number of years. Better known as Anima, Danny co-founded Anima Recordings along with Mehdi & Tony Bernardi, an electronic music label that began distributing free MP3 files and is set to have its first release this summer. 

The Cotton Cake parties taking place monthly in Glasgow were started as a new alternative electronic night out for party goers who wanted a change from all the other nights imitating each other and were becoming boring and old. Supporting local live act's by giving them headline slots at the parties is a regular occurrence at Cotton Cake as well hosting and playing alongside some of the worlds best dj's such as the magnificent Jo Mills, Scratch Perverts, Etienne De Crecy, Bugged Out!'s JoJo De Freq, Gucci Soundsystem, Riton and Brendan Long, Bpitch Control's Kiki and Housemiester, Kompakt's Superpitcher, Boys Noize, Yousef, Soma's Ocotogen, Institubes new kids Para One (Hailed as the new Daft Punk), Surkin, Tacteel and Das Glow, Ed Banger favourite SebastiAn and legendary producer Mr.Oizo! The Cotton Cake Dj Team were lucky enough to be invited to play at Soma Event 'Pressure' in late 2006 with Slam & Sven Vath. Also set to have 2nd B'day celebrations with James Lavelle of UNKLE and fellow Glaswegian friend Alex Smoke and loads more!  

The team have recently been asked to join XOLA residency at Byblos Glasgow for the mighty Charlie Chester known famed for making Circo Loco at DC10 one of the most sought after parties on the island, how could they say no?! Where they will share residencies with Jo Mills and Smoking Jo and play alongside the pioneers of the dj world! In addition to all of this, the guys have also just started another party called 'Purple Sneaker', they never sleep! 

These guys deliver a fresh and unique style of sound designed for electronic lovers of late night madness!
