Cumhur Jay also known as JAY-D was born in Turkey 1980. Breaking into music at a very early age when he moved to London, Jay-D is one of the few DJs who have his own style in london's night life scene, Having a wide list of genres to be interested in and he started collecting records in 1994. Cumhur Jay founding Picking electronic music as his major interest he was one of the partners of the dance/electronic music record label and production company namely Control pro. In 2000 he was picked up by Club End, Neighbourhood, Notting Hill Art Club and Club Mera as a resident DJ and added to their experienced DJ squad. In 2002 along with a very talented dj/producer crew he promoted London best midweek club night called The Groove which to this day still gathers the most innovative and varied sounds of the London night-life. Throughout its two years The Groove has remained a definite Thursday night out for the open-minded, openhearted, music-crazed dance freak. Jay-D skills as a DJ also made him able to play with names such as Derrick L.Carter, Luke Solomon, Terry Francis, Steve Lawler, Justin Long, Greenkeepers, Sander Kleinenberg, Futureshock, Moshic & Zidan, Circulation, Cajmere, James Holden, David Duriez, Dj Fex, Oliver Klein, John Selway to name just a few. Internationally, he performed in cities such as New York, San Francisco, Paris, Berlin, Brussel, Milan, Rome. His musical style can be described as a blend of minimal Tech with a touch of Chicago house, mixing ethnic sound with real boomty chicago groove..He is one of the most in demand djs of London local night scene till 2003 when he moved to Spain and became a part of Quantum Studios-Madrid-started to produce for label Acoustic Energy and where his international career started.
