DIVYDE

DIVYDE is a theory; a process; a vision. Generated with balance and separation, fashioned by creativity and energy. The theory, derived from experience, is while sound evokes emotion, emotion in turn leads to the production of sound. The process is ever-evolving, based on the premise that exploration and individuality lead to creative discovery. The vision is being developed in effort to provide a fresh, positive, and interactive vibe. Music is my means to communicate these dynamics to the you.
-Chris Forsyth

Originally from New York, Chris Forsyth started DJing more than a decade ago. After six months, he landed his first residency at a popular afterhours club. Over the next few years, he performed in several venues and maintained three residencies. In 2005, Chris relocated to Arizona where he met Relentless Beats pioneer, DJ/producer, and dance music junkie, Thomas Turner. This partnership provided Chris with the opportunity to play top clubs in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Las Vegas, and to play along side numerous world class djs such as, BT, Dave Dresden, John Digweed, Josh Gabriel, Infected Mushroom, Junkie XL, Sander Kleinenberg, Jimmy Van M, Markus Schulz, Nick Warren, James Zabiela, and more. Chris and Thomas also collaborated as DiscoJunk on a remix that was released on Baroque Digital in 2009.
Reflected in his mixes and productions, he is a firm believer that every sub-genre of dance music has great tracks to offer. His roots stem primarily from the trance and tribal infused progressive sound of the late 90's. Following that era he became enthralled with deeper, drummy tech house, electro, ambient chill out, and drum n bass.
Chris makes every effort to capture musical changes and trends in his work. He is continuously learning more about what it takes to move listeners physically and emotionally. He is always looking to connect with fans and fellow artists, open to new projects and influences. His style varies as does his taste but his work is most often described as energetic with a deep hypnotic, spacey vibe.
Chris knows how many dance music fans, clubbers, and party goers entertain the idea of being a DJ . Some purchase turntables and, through practice and networking, are fortunate enough to land a gig or two or play at a few parties. But Chris realized that it is a true passion for the music and long- standing dedication that takes the DJ from a casual fan to the next level. The four-on-the-floor moved him and provided the motivation he needed to succeed as an artist and therein lies the Divyde.
