Having been around since Day 1 of the beginning of the rave/club scene in South Africa mainly Cape Town to starting Durban's 1st Afterhours club, AD. AD was modelled on Londons notorious " Trade" and was considered SA's first day club back in the day.
From those moments in time onwards Darren weaved his magic in all the major clubs in SA where he was support Dj on many tours incl Ministry of Sound, Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure Tour, Gatecrasher, Trade, various label tours like Tidy Trax, Nukeuz rec, Tripoli Trax, the list goes on.

Then getting the travel bug to make his mark in the UK and Mediterranean before arriving in the US.
In the UK, clubs like SunnySide up, Strawberry Sundae, Club 414, Heaven, Oxygen, Turnmills and many others
In Athens and various Greek Islands incl playing Athens Gay Pride and all the notable clubs whilst living there and doing their circuit.
In the US he quickly made his mark in Dallas, TX where after time he became the first producer dj to play all the major raves in TX from Austin,Dallas to Houston and other SW cities playing Main stage.Before embarking on a electro/fidget/tech house/house direction he also had a live Trance PA called Greenwave with their own label Monoceros records which took them to WMC amongst various cities Just as they signed to big UK label :Lost Language records, he went in a new direction.In Dallas he threw dance events introducing the likes of Designer Drugs, La Riots and many others. Then deciding to move to San Francisco after a failed marriage in Dallas where he had to " lay low" in a family lifestyle while still pushing out tracks from his studio.
Productions wise he broke into Beatports Top 40 with a Breakbeat remix of one of The Bulgarian's trax(Round & Round) and has released on many record labels incl Runt records, Reticent records, Flexual rec, Dam Good recordings, Music Taste rec, Starblocks Music & others.
Besides producing bootlegs & remixes of( The Smiths, Moby, The Prodigy, A Team TV theme, David Morales, Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, Johnny L, Michael Jackson, AC Slater, Kid Cudi,Deadmou5, Kristine W, Sunscreem, Franz Ferdinand, that has taken his sound globally onto various radio stations from Kiss FM(london), various local UK shows to S African radio stations like 5FM and Radio Good Hope to many in the US incl Satellite's Sirius/XFM.
So in SF he has taken his first few months to working mainly in the studio and running label Backzide Records to give it a new direction after its first few releases saw the likes of Dylan Rhimes, Meat Katie, The Rogue Element, Blende come through it. Its now got releases current and future wth the top producers in the game like Speaker Noize, Dan Oh, Tone-Jack, Filtroniks, Motez, LS Mitchel, Matt Divine, Perfect Cell, R!M!E, Mangled Bass, Mullet Mafia, Dylan Holtzhauzen, LeDoom, Reepr remixing him. He also has a side project he releases under as called Foreign Indulgence( with own Beatport releases with that to).
2009 has been an amazing year out of the studio and with the support of many top dj's and producers worldwide he will be taking his maverick sound on tour.
Locally SF do not know who they have in their city yet...and will surely find out soon as most of their djs drop his tracks week in and out...
