New York born David Morales is an immediately recognisable name and face on the worldwide music scene. He’s an internationally acclaimed Grammy-winning house DJ and producer who, as well as being one of the most celebrated DJs of his era, has undertaken more remix jobs than almost anyone else, transforming a myriad of pop music songs into much more club-friendly tracks that get people dancing. Since 1993 his albums and tracks like “Needing You” have been seminal, never leaving the record bags of true house fans, whilst as a DJ David was first recognised by Larry Levan and became huge on the NYC scene playing legendary venues like The Loft, Paradise Garage and The Sound Factory. Nowadays he is considered as one of the first and foremost superstar DJs and has leant his skills to a variety of compilations including Ministry of Sound's Sessions Seven, United DJs of America Volume 4 (a joint project with the late Frankie Knuckles) and the retrospective collection Mix The Vibe: Past-Present-Future.
This former nightclub owner’s production work started in 1993 with a full-length album and scored him his first major hit with ‘Gimme Luv’, spending two weeks on top of the Billboard dance chart in August 1993. It’s as a remixer that David is better known, though, and he most frequently turns his hand to reworking pop goddess Mariah Carey, as well as working with her in the studio on her albums. David has also remixed Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Whitney Houston and more.
