Dominik Eulberg

In the early morining hours it could happen, that you meet Dominik Eulberg somewhere on a reedcircled lake, armed only with a telescope. Here, where nobody disturbs him, he follows up his hobby: birdwatching. If the passionated ornithologist once is not looking after his feathered friends, he is sitting on the computer and pruduces techno-music.

Dominik Eulberg saw the light of day 1978 in the beautiful region called Westerwald, where he is growing up hand in hand with the nature. Later the infamous Westerwald-wind blows him to Bonn, where he starts to study ecologically geography. Nature is beside music his most important bench mark. He is also an ardent naturefriend, when he works on new sounds. Sundry of naturesounds are expanding his soundrepertoire, and give th tracks an organic, lively character. If frogquacking or birdgabbling, Dominik Eulberg always finds enough space for his singing animals in his songs. You only have to take a look on his tracknames like “The redbellytoad from Tegernlake”.

Dominik Eulbergs fascination for electronic music already starts in his young years. With friends he is always listening to the so mystical seeming sounds of the radio-show “Clubnight” with Sven Väth. Once being influenced by this spell, the fascination for this music never let off. So he starts to buy records with the age of 15 and learns the DJing. There he turns his attention from the beginning to innovative and experimental records. In 1995 he gets a lot of music machines, to allows his creativity full bent and doing live-acts.

First releases came out on Mathias Schaffhäusers label Ware and on Raum...Musik. Then he met Riley Reinhold and Jacqueline Klein and a fertile collaboration on the labels Traumschallplatten and Trapez developed. On Traumschallplatten he also released his first album “ Flora & Fauna”. More release followed on labels like Platzhirschschallplatten or Coccon.

Also as a remixer he made a name for hisself and grilled so well-known artists as Hell, Roman Flügel, Le Dust Sucker, Tiefschwarz or Nathan Fake .

Then everything evolved very quick. He was selected to the newcomer of the year 2004 and the third-best producer by the eminently respactable german electronic-music magazine Groove. At the reader-polls, his debut-album “Flora & Fauna” was selected by the magazine Raveline as third-best and by Groove and De:Bug as five-best album of the year 2004.

Even for the german dance-music-award 2004 Dominik Eulberg was nominated in the categories “Best remix” and “Best Newcomer”.

2005 Dominik Eulberg was selected as producer of the year by the magazine Groove and as third-best national DJ. Furthermore five of his remix works were charted in the yearly Top20 charts. By the magazin Raveline he was voted as second-best Remixer and Newcomer and also his remix for Oliver Koletzki was number 2. Also he was voted as fourth-best act and fifth-best national DJ.
