Geddes is one of London’s true treasures; a DJ, producer, promoter and label owner whose career spans well over a decade. In that time, he has managed to establish not one but two seminal party brands and two labels, as well as maintaining his own sterling reputation as an artist.
He was a key exponent of the warehouse rave scene that emerged out of the decline of the superclub in the mid-2000s, a largely illegal/DIY movement which gave way to today’s huge resurgence in house and techno music. Geddes was on the frontline with his mulletover parties, a brand that quickly became synonymous with high quality warehouse events, gaining worldwide recognition in the process. Later, he conceived London’s alternative New Year’s Day event, NoFitState, which also rapidly cemented its prestigious place within the capital’s clubbing landscape.
Besides his success as a curator and promoter of successful events brands, Geddes also maintains a successful career as a DJ, producer and label owner. He has toured extensively performing at some of Europe’s most influential underground clubs including Panorama Bar, Watergate and Robert Johnson, plus a residency at Space Ibiza among his many DJing accolades. Meanwhile he has been equally successful as a musician, releasing on numerous labels, including Mobilee, Truesoul, Leftroom, Tsuba together with his own imprint murmur. Launched in 2008 murmur has served as a platform for original music from many of today’s most respected artists including Tom Demac, Nick Curly and Mic Newman, plus remix work from Jamie Jones, Dyed Soundorom, Chez Damier, Efdemin and many more.
Murmur is one of two highly-regarded outlets owned by Geddes. The second of which is his newest venture, the NoFitState label wing, he has built on the integrity of the parties, signing and releasing some outstanding music so far. Artists to have featured on the label include Matthew Styles, Rework, Skudge, Locked Groove, Mr Tophat & Art Alfie, Sasse, Thermalbear, Kiki, Simon Baker, A1 Bassline and Geddes himself.
For 2015 the high standard is set to continue, with fellow London stalwart Dan Beaumont due to release on NotFitState Music and Geddes preparing to unleash his first full EP on the label, too, featuring remixes from Snuff Crew and Alex Kid.
With unrivalled experience of the London club scene behind him, as well as a forward-thinking global vision and consistent love and support from an extensive community of fans and artists alike, Geddes remains an intrinsic part of the capital’s scene and will maintain that position for many years to come…
