Originally from Madrid, Juanjo spends his time between Barcelona, Ibiza and the Spanish capital. From the outset in 1996, he has been a key figure in the expansion of electronic music in Spain

He has always had a very unique style, with one philosophy in mind…get people dancing. He started out at very small venues, and in 1997 took part in the Rivers59 session in Madrid, and then moved on to the most important clubs in Madrid for the following four years.

His style was originally based on progressive trance and on the principles of fusion between trance, techno and house. However, over time he evolved towards what is currently known as house.

In 2002 he became part of the well known group FSM, taking up a residency in revolutionary Space of Sound, and played alongside DJs such as Steve Lawler, Satoshi Tomie, John Aquaviva, Richie Hawtin, Eric Morillo to name but a few.

In the same year, he worked with David Penn and Daren J Bell on his very first production "I..m not there", which was included on a Gay Pride Compilation sold all over Europe.

From 2004 he has been playing in Heaven Madrid where he is currently the Resident at the Sunday night sessions, bringing together the best crowd from Madrid that he has won over with his own style of music.

From 3003 to 2006 he was nominated Best DJ in the DJ Magazine One Magazine

In 2005 he moved into the international arena and played at venues such as Queen (paris), The Edge (London), the End (London) as well as for the renowned Matinee Group, where he has a residency with them at one of the world..s best clubs, Space Ibiza. He also plays at Matinee venues such as Souvenir, La Madame, Café Ole, and brought his own individual style to circuit parties on the matinee World Tour in Holland, Germany, France, Italy, England, Belgium, Russia and the US.

His productions have been acclaimed by top DJS such as Carl Cox, who kept one of Juanjo..s records in his Top 10 hits for almost a year. Jerry Ropero, Danny Tenaglia have also praised his work and he is currently planning several future projects with Eric Morillo.

In 2006 and 2007 he travelled all over South America, and has become a reference point for house music in Brasil, Colombia, Mexico and Argentina.

He is also the first Spanish resident DJ at Ibiza..s Manumission, held every year at Privilege, as well as at the other venues such as Matinee (space Ibiza), and Pacha (Ibiza)

His productions so far have been complete successes. He is a partner in the set me free group - a booking agency and record label company run by Juanjo, Javi Reina, Abel and Raul.

In 2007 he got 6 nominations for the DJMAGS, a record in nominations for one sole DJ: Best DJ, Best DJ of Progressive House, Best Producer, Revelation DJ, Best DJ in Ibiza and Hit Record of the Year - Juanjo Martin and Javi Reina feat Rebeka Brown - Maniac (Rain Love)
