introduction to music instruments firstwith violin, later with piano.

1988
first gigs as a hiphop dj in school discos. kiki tours later on with a group of mc´s (style: funk records hacked plus a sampler, check: www.liisanpuisto.com ) as a successful hiphop act through finnland until the beginning of the 90´s when the techno and house scene became more exciting.

1992
kiki spins records for the first time at the it-club in helsinki starting in ´92. resi-dent dj in the tempo club of helsinki. Smile club follows ...

1996
move to berlin and the beginning of an architecture curriculum in ´96. kiki leaves a strong impression at a malboro dj contest in the tresor (with masters at work as judges) and then soon finds himself djing there and at the wmf. resident in berlin clubs such as pfefferbank, casino, e-werk, tresor, wmf. kiki produces his own radio show for a cult pirate station: twen fm. kiki plays the international terrain with hot djs.

1998
produces a mix cd on three decks for sonnenhaus parties;
de-bug writes: "kiki must have broken his fingers mixing ..."

2001
first record on ellen allien´s super hot it´ll hurt bpitch control label.

2002
works closely with silversurfer and, as of late, together with dj phonique (poker flat). they have a four turntable project in store for a mix cd and a remix.

2004

kiki was born and raised in finnland. meanwhile his musical home as a dj and producer is berlin. he is famous for his versatile wildstyle wich is a mixture of hi-nrg-tech-house glamour hystery and hilarious sampler explosions.

kikis´s agile sound likes to take a dip in the pool of hedonism and he has no problem playing a set on three decks all night long without missing a groove or skipping the needles. he is always searching for the freshest stuff with his good humored comprehensive style diversity in order to wind around inelastic structures, this all and a lot more makes him an integral part of the bpitchcontrol collective.

kiki & silversurfer biography

kiki & silversurfer is the place where finnisch decency meets greek indecency. they both met up while djing at the casino club in berlin and went together in studio and very fastly found out they had a very spezial way of connecting in creativness, without words, just getting into the groove almost blues brothers like! the dirty, funky electronic grooves they produce have been heavily supported by all the keyplayers in the scene ike pete tong, laurent garnier, sasha & digweed, miss kittin, ivan smaghhe and many more right since their first release, the irresistible wasp on ellen allien´s bpitch control label.

since then they have had the owner of producing the first release for damian la-zarus so hip that it hurts crosstown rebels, where also the rest of their releases to date have come out (the numerous remixes put aside). their second single wire dub was so strong, that they even invented a dance around it which led to a video-shooting video which was on rotation on mtv u.k.

the last single shake off was the final breakthrough feat. rockguitars and the very rolling stones like vocals from captain comatose, (a style copied from many electronic producers ever since) and was shown on mtv u.k. and germany and viva germany. a few djs like mandy/get physical went to state it as the underground tune of the summer 2004!

their still somewhat rare liveshows have been rocking the very selected, best clubs all over the world including bugged out! & fabric/london, back 2 basics/leeds, tdk dance marathon/milan, melt!/germany, loft/barcelona, electrosplash/benicassim and many more!

lately, they have been experimenting even more with their liveshows, including a guitarist and a bassplayer into the show, creating a real concert/band feel to it kiki playing the keyboards and singing and silversurfer being something like a modern drummer behind the electronic equipment. these experiments lead to 2 shows to date: bpitch control showcase at volksbühne/berlin & a roskilde festival organized happening at maria/berlin.

in the meanwhile they both have been concentrating on their solo-albums (kiki for bpitch control & silversurfer for crosstown rebels), but are already looking foRward finally getting back to studio together again!
