Kramnik

If success is magnetic by nature, this year's outlook promises to be nothing short of spectacular for burgeoning DJ/Producer Kramnik. As a genuine dance music devotee, master mixologist and a figurehead within the Madrid scene, its no surprise he's already locked down support from the industries' most respected voices: "One to Watch" iDJ (www.kramnik.dj/reviews).

No stranger to the music business, several years served at Sony BMG gave Kramnik a solid grounding and an affirmation to his cause, working with 'real musicians' such as Garbage, The Eurythmics and even a rather bizarre appearance on stage with Five! However, the corporate game wasn't without its frustrations and he soon jumped ship to the EDM industry, following his personal interests.

Kramnik began promoting and booking acts under Static Sound System (SSS) at the famed 19th Century Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. It was here he inherited an insatiable thirst for story telling, accredited from being a frequent bystander to DJ's such as John Digweed and Kevin Saunderson. A quiet study of their iconic mixing techniques and crowd manipulation gave further ambition to his tireless quest of "Perfection" - already surpassed in the eyes of David Atkinson over at M-Audio (www.kramnik.dj/reviews).

After posting his first free public 'Zen Zong' 90-min album/mix back in June 2009 (www.kramnik.dj/music), a press snowstorm ensued. With the mix featured live on Total Kiss FM, it quickly garnered worldwide plaudits and clinched an acclaimed "Top Pick" from DJ Mag (www.kramnik.dj/reviews). Then came the 90 minute 'K Song'...

Kramnik has since never looked back and is still delivering intelligent shades of Progressive House and Techno into further mix-album works, featuring his most recent 'Teknosaurus 1.0' offering, picking up another coveted award as "Mix of the Week" on DSI.com.

Looking to the future, his debut original release 'BPM Blues' (www.kramnik.dj/music), as playlisted in 'The Blues Song' (1h 30m - www.kramnik.dj/music), boasts inspiring use of a 1954 Howlin' Wolf blues harmonica, demonstrating momentous promise in the studio as his productions begin to take flight. Then came 'Viclone', a dark, haunting and spatial progressive working out sampling genuine kettledrums and real violins. According to Klubbers.com, this first release by Kramnik is simply "...an unbeatable jewel... the best EP we've heard this year..."

With an abundance of residencies in Madrid (Básico, Copola, El Perro, El Laboratorio) and recent praise-riddled stages in Sao Paulo, DC, Miami WMC and the UK's BPM, it's clear the buzz is starting to surround Kramnik with a momentous US Sirius XM mix and startling enthusiasm seen from promoters worldwide about Kramnik's dance floor journeys.

As a man of such talent, maturity and discipline to his cause, we can only speculate the heights of success lying in wait. One thing's for sure; an artist so versatile and diligent like Kramnik will be keeping everyone on their toes so far as until he acknowledges satisfaction - which prompts the question, what could ever stop a true artist?

PRESS

"Since we don't know the story, and we don't know who he is, and based on one of the best, if not probably the best EP we've listened to this year, because of its complexity, because of its sound, because of its harmonies, because of its mixture of impossible elements, because of its artistic approach to electronic music, moving between progressive house and techno, with unheard of touches, because of its courage in sampling the voice of a 1954 recording by Howlin' Wolf, and because of its bold and daring sound, all I can say is that this is simply unbeatable. A real piece of jewelry that everyone should listen to and see that there is still hope in this thing called electronic music."
Klubbers.com

"A well-programmed and thoroughly cohesive trip through the finest tech cuts of the moment. Bubbling with deep progressive ambience and swirling bass-driven energy, it jumped out at us..."
DJ Mag

"Mixing was tight, lovely rolling grooves and a good progression.. .a very enjoyable mix."
Datatransmission

"Nice and trippy "
Mixmag

"I haven't heard such a large slice of quality dark progressive tech energy since Moshic came to fame on the DJ Mag World Series covermount back in 2003... Here's hoping Kramnik can carve an underground uprising of this powerful deep side of progressive house."
Simon Hart, Pioneer

"You know what? Kramnik sounds pretty slammin!"
Emily Tan, Sirius Radio (mix aired to 39 million listeners in the United States)
