Liquid People

Just who are Liquid People???

Dan Smith and Conan Manchester have been producing, remixing and DJing together for the past 8 years. Based in Steam Room studios, East London, the duo have forged a powerful partnership in global house circles, enjoying widespread success along the way. Influenced by everything from jazz to disco to hip-hop, the recipe for a Liquid People hit is simple. Conan, a MPC4000 beat junkie and technician with superb deck skills, keeps the mix moving along with beat juggling, scratching and sampling while Dan's soulful cuts and smooth mixing come together to produce an experience like no other. Liquid Peoples' DJ style is a unique blend of New York Style House tinged with a slightly more driving and deeper sound. In short, it's banging, beautiful house music at its best.

Support for their work has come from artists worldwide. In the US, Tony Humphries, MAW, Terry Hunter, The Basement Boys, Spen, Jazz n' Groove and Tedd Patterson have all supported their style, while across the Atlantic Pete Tong Ben Watt, Danny Rampling, Mark Wilkinson, Bobby and Steve, Lottie, Sir Piers, Rupert and Dream Team have represented the Liquid People sound in the UK.

With an impressive discography on labels including Yellow Productions, Catch 22, ITH and Defected, Liquid People have also added their remix touch to Talking Heads, Lucy Pearl, Lighthouse Family, All Saints, Kidd & Kango, Basement Boys, Ashanti, Blondie, Telepopmuzik, Agent Sumo, Zoom, Mint Royale and Greg Cerrone to name a few.

2005 has already been a hugely successful year for the duo, seeing the establishment of their own label, Cyphon Records which, in partnership with Simon Dunmore and Defected, will release original Liquid People material as well as material under the duo's monikers, Conan Liquid and Danism. Due to their working relationship with Defected they also look forward to signing new artists for the label and producing remixes for that added punch.

On the release front, 2005 has already seen the release of Liquid People's smash 'Inside My Soul' and their dub mix of The Jinks 'Love Like This' on MN2S, as well as the 'Trip EP' on Cyphon and the huge hit 'Ice Cream Parlour', which the boys released on Clubsole under their Da Peepz pseudonym. Several more cuts are to follow before the year is out, including 'Glance, Look, Stare' featuring Monique Bingham on MN2S and 'Breathe' on 1Trax, a solo effort by Conan under his Conan Liquid moniker.

Liquid People continue to push the boundaries of house music. Their fresh, ever-developing style ensures this duo are a regular fixture on the DJ circuit, where they have wowed crowds from Europe to Asia.
