Overview of Lisa Pin-Up, The person
Born in the East End of London, Lisa was a bit of a wild child growing up often playing truant to stay out clubbing all night. Lisa left school and went through a succession of jobs before embarking on a modelling career, but this was not her true love and as Lisa’s obsession with the club scene grew, her career path lead her back to London’s night life. It was here that Lisa fell for the tunes that would lead her to purchase some decks, mix a tape, and thanks to Pushca, her first residency at Bambina/Pushca in 1996. As Lisa’s reputation grew other clubs cottoned onto her talents and residencies @ Miss Moneypennys-Birmingham and Freedom @ Bagleys-London soon followed. By now Lisa’s career had really taken off and so too was her popularity, due in part to her unique style of DJing, her mixing and Lisa’s ability to enjoy herself and immerse into the crowds of clubbers that had come to hear her play, an ability that few DJs today can truly claim they have an ability for. Lisa puts this down to the simple fact that she is still a clubber herself at heart and knows what rocks the dance floor and what doesn’t. Even though Lisa has now forgotten her modelling career and is a respected Dj and producer, Lisa was still noticed recently for her glamorous looks by Loaded magazine who voted her number 54 in their top 100 babes feature!

Lisa has mixed numerous compilations to date and if this is a barometer of her popularity then she’s doing very well. Her first compilation was released in September 1999 “The Sounds Of Freedom” on Automatic Records which came out of her Saturday night residency at Freedom in London which then followed with a hugely successful tour across the UK. Lisa’s second follow up album through Virgin Records was aptly titled “Raising Hell” and came out in July 2000. This was then quickly followed by the gold selling “Hard House Nation” 1 and 2 which followed in September and December 2000 with Hard House Nation 3 following in March 2001. Lisa’s next compilation was for Telstar called “Hard Dance Euphoria” through the hugely popular Euphoria brand, which was released in October 2001, and then Lisa released her first mix compilation for Trust the dj, the internet site that hosts her web site titled “Lisa Pin-Up LP01” And lastly this May 2004 Lisa has just released here latest mix compilation, “Hard House Anthems 5” through Nukleuz records, the UK’s number one selling dance label.
