DJ Biography – Matt Whittet – aka Techno Chemist

Matt Whittet has been Djing in and around the UK for 14 years; At a tender age of 14 he bought his first set of technic  1210s, and it is from there his passion for playing good music has grown. His early musical influences were Frankie Knuckles. As a youngster growing up Matt was brought up listening to Acid House – which in the 80’s/90s was dominating the UK Club scene, and since then has been on a musical journey which has led him to earn the alias of ‘Techno Chemist’ 

Over the years Matt experimented with many types of House Music from Deep, Vocal, Electro, Tech as well has had exposure to a wide variety of DJ Equipment along the way.  Matt today prefers to play a more Tech House / Progressive / Techno set when he is working. Over time he began to realise this is where his natural talent for mixing & playing lies. 

His style is effortless, his mixing is controlled and has a very natural flow, educated across all genres, Matt has an ability to put mixes together which leave you wanting more. He knows how to keep the energy high, each set he plays has a lot of preparation put into – for Matt he feels this is the key to always delivering 100% everytime. His music is serious, and he knows how to work the crowd, Melodic Tech twists fused with those driving progressive beats.  His laidback persona in his personal life shines through in work. 

Matt is keen to push himself and experiment with not only equipment but also tracks. Since the launch of his Internet Radio & Streaming site (www.twistedenergy.co.uk) Matt has spent more time developing his skills in the studio and is now releasing tracks under his ‘Techno Chemist’ alias, a lot of which are being built into the sets Matt now plays. He has a weekly radio show, which is growing week on week and has a good stable following building – all are equally as excited to hear what the Techno Chemist will be dispensing next!

Matt has played out & had some fantastic exposure during his years, most famously for holding residency at Essex’s biggest Techno brand ‘Audio Chic’ – playing alongside the likes of Phil Kieran, Raymundo Rodriquez to name but a few.
