Michael Läuppi aka DJ Michael - Deep found his way to the world of electronic music in a time, when people thought that "electronic music" means eurodance and bands like Rednex or 2 Unlimited: 1993, when he was 18 years old. Back then he was addicted to a much rougher style than he is now; his first steps as a dj he took in the Hardcore-sector, with some excursions into breakbeats. By playing in important hardcore-locations like the Utopia-Club (Aargau, Switzerland) he was able to make his way to well reputed hardcore-dj and was booked by the most important raves around (Gugelmann Areal, Roggwil Switzerland and Grodoonia, Rümlang Switzerland). After a certain time, Michael noticed, that he didn't get any crative inputs from hardcore anymore and so he changed his style to more subcultural, underground-music. One of his trademarks, by the way: Michael Deep always was very cynical about commercial sound and even today, when he plays minimal, tekhouse- and deephouse-sets, he has a particular flair for high quality-underground. the wage for his stylistically confidence connected with lots of enthusiasm wasn't a long time coming; quickly he transfered his well reputation from hardcore to house and minimal and connected himself to the Swiss eventlabel Banditz (Agron Isaku and Andrea Oliva, aka DJ Andrew). With this relationship in hand, Michael Deep got bookings from the most important clubs in Switzerland, such as Club Q, Supermarket, Kaufleuten, Acqua, Liquid, Nordstern and Oxa. But also some of the best known partylabels are among his clients; "In Bed With Space" or "We Love Space", to name a few.
