
Michele Calogiuri begin on’s violin studies when he was 6 with M° Francesco De Giorgi. In 1999 he joins in Academy of music, where he cleverly outstrips all his exams which allows him to graduate in violin in the Academy of music “ Tito Schipa” in Lecce, under the guidance of M° Luigi Maci, violinist and composer. Beside being part of the orchestra of the same Academy, he wins, as soloist, during his young musical career, competitions and annals, as “ Festival Nazionale degli strumenti ad arco”, managed by musical association “Il Parnaso”. Moreover, Michele Calogiuri open himself as shift worker in the varied musical genres, showing his versatility: from classic to pop sound, bypassing among balcanic and folk, from rock to jazz, till house and electronic music, getting him to all contaminations and all musical genres.
Appreciated performer in all territory, he cooperates with artists whom get him to show himself in some of the biggest European festivals, in the most important places and most prestigious Italian theatres
Since January 2008 he takes on the collaboration with Joyfull Family and with dj and producer friends Cristian Carpentieri, Guido Nemola and Chico Perulli, he takes part to interesting projects, as “Kalì” (RecLine) in July 2009, remixed by one of the most glorious italian house dj, Cristiano Rinaldi, aka Dj Uovo, from Pastaboys. “Kalì” got part in top 20 of the “Italian singles foreign sellers” (www.discopiu.it). In November 2009 he takes part on production and music adaptation of “I feel” of Cristian Carpentieri (on Revox) with Francesca Romana’s voice and Cesare Dell’Anna’s trumpet.
In the same period he collaborates with Alex Dimitri in composing and adaptation of the album “ Alex Dimitri South Soul” on BBE Records. Michele Calogiuri also collaborates with Cesare Cremonini, Steve Mantovani, Katy Yolanda Rice, Giuseppe Santagata, Paolo Fresu, Stefano Fontana, Raffaele Casarano, Locomotives, The Solaris, Conny Martin, Gianni Sava, Slow Death, Enrico Calabrese, Guido Nemola, Ladricorè, Marco Frisina, Kreos & Lemos, Marcin Czubala, Dj Uovo, Pastaboys, Dirty Channels, and others. He continues his work as adaptator and composer with italian Academies in audio executions for sport, theatre, dance jingles, spots and on orchestration and trascription for all musical ensambles: quartet, duo, big band, piano & voice.
Michele Calogiuri continues his studies on Academy of music “Tito Schipa” in Lecce, in “ composing and condirectorship” and since September 2009 in recording of Disney soundtracks for Disney Movie Orchestra.
