This is a journey into the sound: In the 80´s, Mikas world circled around pop music and was replaced by Heavy Metal in the early 90´s when shortly after his taste changed again towards HipHop and, later on, electronic music.

Even while listening to HipHop, it was the guys at the decks that Mika considered to be the most interesting part. Handling the turntables wasn't that big deal, but all the more spending every buck on records while hardly getting a chance to play anywhere without a release or an own label.
For a couple of years the connection with Rico Henschel - most of you may know him as SWEETN.CANDY - and Christian Hoffmann (BLACKWALL, also part of ABONNÉ) didn't cause anything more than some sweet but passing fancies while enjoying the one or other beer.
The final decision was made in the end of 2004. Evoked by Rico's musical breakthrough and further connections to various producers making good music but lacking a label to publish their stuff , OPOSSUM RECORDINGS was born and caused big troubles on this worlds danceflors right from the start.

Mika is producing in company with mister jack of all trades Alex Krüger a.k.a. DUB TAYLOR a.k.a. TIGERSKIN for a while now and released as ANTILOPE & TIGERSKIN on the Hamburg based label KOMPASS MUSIK as well as on the Danish Label MERMAIDS IN SPACE and, of course, on his own imprint OPOSSUM RECORDINGS.
