Subb-an, aka Ashique, was born in 87' and hails from Birmingham, UK.  

Like many youngsters of his generation, Ash's interest in electronic music began in his teens. Having no idea how to use his first set of decks, purchased with a small amount of cash at the tender age of 12, he gradually began to buy records and listen to a broad spectrum of music, classic house sounds and the techno of Detroit having particular effect on him.  

Teaching himself to mix from scratch via trial and error, Ash soon became curious about the world of production. Setting out to learn methods that would see him begin to cultivate a wealth of samples to define his own aural identity, Ash's musical education was highlighted by the study of Sound and Multimedia at the University of Central England.  

As ever, Ash's inquisitive nature led to the development of a variety of live sets, landing him a residency at Birmingham's respected 'Below'. Known for it's ever inspiring atmosphere and a finger firmly on the pulse, Below's line-ups have enabled Ash to grow as an artist, supporting the likes of Mobilee artists Anja Schneider, Sebo K and Ralf Kollmann, girl-wonder Dinky and the UK's own Jamie Jones. Appearances at London's The End and Technique in Leeds have ensured that Ash's talent has not been confined to the West Midlands.

The 2008 release of Italia on Leftroom, having received accolades from M8, Mixmag, and IDJ, has gained support from some of the leading names in the industry, with his productions being played by Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Paul Woolford and Luciano to name but a few.   

Ash's latest signing to Immigrant records, the Corridors Of Life EP, featuring an acclaimed remix by Ralph Sliwinski, is to be released in May, the next step in what is slowly becoming Ash's year, and the first of several planned releases and remixes. Confirmed for billing on coveted line-ups alongside Jamie Anderson and Jamie Jones, Loco Dice and the Mobilee crew, as well as summer dates in Barcelona, Croatia's Garden Festival and an additional residency with Immigrant's T-bar parties, Ash's talent is certainly one to monitor.
