Walker Barnard has been blazing trails through scenes and genres stretching back to the early nineties. He first got down with the electric bass in LA as a teenager, then later learned the art of sampling from the Dust Brothers. He eventually migrated to NYC, acquired yet more skills, then wandered back up through the wilds and mesas of New Mexico, and down again into the clubland trenches of Berlin.
He's been sailing back and forth between Berlin and Bali these last years, generating a future kind of scene with the Umalagon: a series of parties, interactions, incidents that take place of the fair isle. A weaver of sounds and worlds, Walker is a seeker of autonomous zones, coherent fields of sonic architecture-- constantly reinventing vibes and styles while forever remaining true to the dance floor.
