25-year-old Wouter de Moor belongs to the new wave of Dutch DJs and producers. His talent and passion for music brought him from bedroom DJing to a promising career in a matter of only few years. In his late teens, de Moor works in restaurants to finance his turntables and records. All free time is invested in a singular thing: music. Soon after, the first gig at a club in Amersfoort would come in. One of the turning points in de Moor's young DJ career happened in May 2004, when he won the Dommelsch TWSTD DJ-contest in Amsterdam. This would earn him not only a Sound Engineering course at the prestigious SAE Institute, but also give his DJ career an additional boost. His monthly Technoscope (current Fresh BPM) residency in Amsterdam followed, which allowed him to further his crowd experience, as well as placed him behind the decks next to some key players in the scene. Ever since, Wouter de Moor has played all over the Netherlands, from small clubs to big festivals.
After his debut on Awakenings Festival 2006, he earned a residency at Rekord3r, a party concept that travels between Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht. Nevertheless, on his journeys beyond Dutch borders, he played multiple times in Seoul (South Korea) and Beijing (China), as well as Malta, Berlin (Germany) and Thailand. His successful Asian DJ-tours continue into the present. De Moor's DJing style balances somewhere between house and techno, with a minimal twist in-between.
Although he tries to fight against categorization and labelling, the strong funky elements as well as the driving groove are evident lines throughout his sets.
While studying at the Pop Academy for a Music Producer, Wouter de Moor also DJs several gigs per weekend, including exciting summer festivals and tours trough Asia. He released tracks on Bla Bla, Remote Area, Mindshake and Waldliebe. For bookings: bookings@ad-bookings.com
