A brief label biography: Label owner John Buckley - In recession gripped Limerick, in early 2009, I looked into the idea of setting up a small record label. Motivated by an unyielding love of Electronic Music, and the desire to get out of an unrewarding career in Architecture, I formed Antiqua Recordings. With that, a few months passed, and I had sourced some top notch material to release, thanks in no small part to some talented Irish producers.

Determined not to fall into the same predictable category of the vast amount of digital only “Net-labels”, I made the decision to put music out on 12” vinyl as well as digital download (doing my bit to keep vinyl alive!!).

For a small label, releasing music in this way is expensive, therefore releases will not be as frequent as most other label’s schedules, but with that, music enthusiasts & djs alike, can be sure that every Antiqua release will be one worth waiting for, Quality over Quantity – it’s what we’re all about!
