First conceived in late 2007, CityWestRecords started out as a platform for Dave Nicholson to promote a bunch of tracks he had produced under his production alias 'Shibumi'. His tracks received postitive feedback from DJ's in the USA, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia via Releasepromo.com. Other commitments left the label on the back burner for most of 2008 and 5 of the tracks (Beginning, Metaphysics, Sweaty, Tribulation and Windsketch) were picked up by Pete Ryan and licensed to Pete's new label 'Twister Tunes'.
2009 has seen Dave working on getting the label up and running releasing his own and signing tracks from Nick Turner, (a rising deep house maestro from Middlesbrough whos tracks are firm favourites on the Norh East underground circuit), Kirk Douglas, (resident at Edinburgh's Musika who has supported the likes of Erik Prydz, Danny Howells and Luciano).
CityWestRecords releases can be heard being played in Ibiza this summer in some of the islands biggest clubs by 'We love... Space' resident Ian Blevins and by Kirk Douglas who will be playing a number of closing parties in September at Eden, Privelidge and Ibiza Rocks.
With a release schedule that will take the label into 2010 CityWestRecords aims to deliver the finest in deep electronica and support local and international DJ's and Producers alike.
