With such a great start to 2009 The SUBJEKTS AKA Jorge Watts & Sonny Fodera have been flexing their musical muscle either producing, DJing or playing Live at festivals and clubs of late. So much so that with their production they have ventured out on their own to start up a label which in their eyes will push their music more further with much more freedom and flexibility. Exclusively through the digital realm of Beatport.com the worlds largest dance music distributor, Sonny and Jorge will be offering a mixture of fresh techno but also with a genre somewhere between tech house, deep house and minimal. ExAM might be flying under the radar with just its inception to the global market last month, but the newly formed imprint has had no trouble finding its feet with it already very well exposed on US & European sound systems with their tracks being played regularly by the bigger name DJ’s. Their first EP made for the techno floors with a steady 4/4 pulse constantly morphing for big system sound on the District EP ExAM 001. The new label influenced by their tech house and minimal techno tendances, Exam records remind us of labels like Liebe Detail, and 8Bit, but also along the lines of Get Physical with tracks like ‘Pushing Me Away’ and artists like Nick Curly, Matteo DiMarr, Johnny D, Gorge and Carl Craig would fit right into their release schedule.
