After 15 years in the business as one of the leading producers of his day, the time has come for Jeroen ‘Secret Cinema' Verheij to broaden his horizons and thus he will be launching Gem Records in December! The philosophy behind ‘Gem' is to sign solely those tracks that survive the sands of time, regardless of which genre they may be categorized as. The label showcase ‘Gem Sessions' has been introduced successfully to the Dutch scene with a number of sold out events and an Amsterdam Dance Event showcase.

The roster includes Egbert, who was discovered by Verheij and went on to release a bomb called ‘Magie' which was recently signed to Sven Vath's ‘Sounds of the 10th Season compilation. The track also landed him a deal to release a 12" on Vath's label in November 2009. GEM001 will be Egbert's ‘Dezelfde Weg' EP which alongside the absolutely brilliant original will include a stomping Secret Cinema remix. You can hear a preview under ‘News' on this website.

Peter Horrevorts will be responsible for the second release on the label. This cat needs less introduction, with a number of high profile releases and remixes under his belt on labels such as Underground Resistance, Ministry of Sound and Global Underground to name a few. The remaining artists on board with Verheij are Jamie Anderson, Ramon Tapia and Van Anh who will be making their first appearance on Gem soon!
