Konsequenz Berlin was formed by two friends, James Blonde & Marcus Suiter (Zico) in early 2008, as a mutual platform of sharing their similar taste of organic epic electronic music, and helping advance new artists that they believed in and worked with. Besides these parameters, the label had no one way direction, meaning it was open the any music they appreciated as can be evident in its first releases.
The first 12" was "Big With Nobody" by Oliver Deutschmann supported by a remix from Koljah, both producers turned out later to be amongst the label's main contributors. Soon followed singles from Marlow & Comixxx and Vek & Hakimonu. Towards the end of the first year, the label initiated its compilation series "the World is Ours".
2009 saw the return of Deutschmann & Koljah with their EP on the label titled "Slowly We Rot" with remixes by the label's new addition Ed Davenport. Tracks from this record appeared on Len Faki's Berghain 03 and a new edit of "Eaten Back to Life" was recently featured on Sebo K's Watergate 04. Soon followed "the World is Ours" 02 which earned great respect for its diversity and earned the label showcases in Panorama Bar Berlin, and The Egg London to name a few.
After a few more releases from James Blonde and Lonya & Roi Okev, featuring remixes from producers such as Varoslav, Dan Drastic, and Remute - the label decided towards the end of the year to take a break, and focus on building its sub label Blitz which surrounds around a more tooly environment, as can be heard in the label's first two releases "Junky Indian" from James Blonde & Lonya, and the December 14th release "Toolin' Around" EP from Werner Niedermeier. In 2010 Konsequenz will return with an EP from Koljah supported by a Daniel Stefanik remix, the third "the World is Ours" around spring time, and more new releases from the Konsequenz and Blitz artists.
