Born of the Montreal club scene of the 90s, Jared and Voytek became fast friends. Immersed in a city with a dynamic underground culture they were exposed to a wide variety of sounds that give them the perfect framework. And while their taste can differ, both share a love of electronic sounds and are seamless in blending their preferences.
Their partnership started as djing venture, which still remains their first love. Since then, MFR have played at such venues as Montreal’s legendary Stereo Nightclub and Stereobar as well as the always cutting edge and favorite gem, Blizzarts, Circa in Toronto, the BPM music conference in Mexico, and the Winter Music Conference in Miami, to name a few. In Late 2008, My Favorite Robot Records, a natural progression for the duo, launched onto the scene with releases by the MFR boys that included original works with remixes, as well as tracks by up and coming local and international artists.
Since then, the My Favorite Robot imprint has firmly planted itself on the map with a string of critically acclaimed singles, artist albums, and remixes from such artists James Teej (Rekids), Kenny Glasgow (No.19), Sasse (Mood Music), Chloe (Kill The DJ), Slok (Circle/Turbo), Jonny White (No.19/Perspecitv), Toby Tobias (Rekids), Mateo Murphy (Tronic/Turbo) Maher Daniel (Souvenir/Get Physical) to name a few.
The label’s vision is simple: Ignore the norm and broaden the definition of electronic music in order to deliver it to as many music lovers as possible. With no shortage of talent on hand, MFR are riding a train of excitement around everything they are doing and in an unprecedented short period of time have become a core part of the electronic music scene. 2010 will continue with all of the same excitement in which it started with hot releases from The Model (Gigolo Records), Sasse & Phonogenic (Mood Music), James Teej (Rekids) and My Favorite Robot as well as label events worldwide.
We look forward to sharing our vision with you!
