Born from a love of music and technology, Serif Records is set to launch in spring 2009, fuelled and inspired by Leeds' thriving electronic scene. As producers, DJs and now label owners, Dylan, Kyle and Oli combine a taste for everything from deep house and techno to drum'n'bass. Taking inspiration from the likes of Wagon Repair, Ovum and Poker Flat, the label will mirror their broad-minded approach to music as Serif Records opens its doors to every style of dance producer.
The first release sees Serif harness a rising Northern star to make a real statement of intent. As Mixmag's youngest 'Future Hero' in 2004, Denney's production work has already caught the ear of James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, Layo & Bushwacka! and Funk D'Void. His latest cut – the creeping, percussive '12 Hours' – is primed for take-off in March/April 2009 and boasts remixes from Fergie protege, Mr Henry Von, and local heroes Mundyke and Darius Syrossian of Breakout Audio.
