Wolf Trap was formed in 2010 by Tim Cook and Gary Wood; Two DJ/Producers from the South Coast of England. Since the 90's our two protagonists have led almost parallel lives on the club scene, DJing, promoting and eventually adding music production to the trinity.
Between them Tim and Gary have played at Mr C's legendary night Superfreq and at clubs such as The Egg, Heaven, The End and Ministry of Sound in London.
Gary is a qualified Music Technology teacher with a BA Honours Degree in Creative Music Production. He also won a Best DJ award on Radio 1. Tim's credentials are rather more organic; from his roots as a drummer right through to producing releases for record labels such as Railyard, Fade and Kismet.
With their passion for tech-house music and their shared know how, it was a natural progression for Tim and Gary to want to put their vision out there in the form of a record label. Enter Wolf Trap. What's behind the name? Well, you could use the analogy that like the wolf, the label roams the after-dark world, seeking out like-minded creatures of the night, prowling for a fresh kill? Truth is, the two-word combination just sounded good.
The label's ethos is to seek out exciting, talented producers from around the world and to give Tim and Gary the perfect platform for their own releases under production names Sousk (Tim Cook) and Toxic Black (Gary Wood).
