Christian Smith, Barcelona based Swedish DJ and owner of the respected Tronic Music label is the next artist who´s been invited to do a mix CD ‘Ekspozicija 05’ for the Slovenian Explicit Musick label (co-owned by Umek). A new instalment in the successful series, which was started by one of the biggest names in techno - DJ Rush, followed with mixes by Marco Bailey (Belgium), Christian Varela (Spain) and Slam (Scotland).
Smith is known for his funky and technically perfect DJing – and, on his new mix CD, he certainly doesn't disappoint. Chris brings the feeling of a sweaty club to your home, car or mp3 player – however, he does it with a style that his peers don't necessarily have. He is not afraid to include old club classics such as Robotman (aka Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman) ‘Do Da Do’...”.`such tracks are timeless and need to be heard by each new generation of music lovers´ quoted Smith.
There are some fairly big-name producers included in the mix – Layo & Bushwacka!, Booka Shade, and Antoine Clamaran – while others present join the dots in the current 'crème de la crème´of the international (techno) production. Christian has aimed to create a stimulating and intriguing listening experience with his ‘Ekspozicija 05’ mix that will appeal to a wider audience than just dedicated techno headz.
With his Tronic label and Tronic Treatment club night going from strength to strength in Barcelona, Christian Smith is most certainly a man to check out now, Chris has launched Club4 in Barcelona´s City Hall with resident Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, and himself.
