We'll admit that we didn't like New York artist M A N I K's debut EP for Ovum, but in the year and change since then young Chris Manik (AKA M A N I K) has grown to be one of underground dance music's hottest new producers. His debut album Armies of the Night is a journey through the nightlife scene of his New York City borough - Queens - circa 1979-1990 with elements of pop, disco, hip-hop, and house that is well crafted.
