Scuba is the head of one of the hottest bass labels in the world, Hot Flush, releasing his own great LPs and EPs as well as those from Locked Groove, Guy Andrews, Paul Woolford and more, his sound ranges from bright and catchy bass to deeper, darker fare. Based in Berlin, he regularly plays Berghain and in fact has his own Sub: stance night at the club, which recently played out for the last time, much to everyone’s chagrin!

The last few years have been as experimentally freewheeling as any in the history of electronic music, and there are few finer examples to support that argument than London-born and bred beatsmith, George FitzGerald. With releases on Hotflush, Aus, and his own imprint, ManMakeMusic, his productions combine with exceptional style and grace both the warmer, melodic sides of house and garage with themore heated, pounding drum patterns of dubstep and techno. All the best producers have hallmarks, and FitzGerald’s are evident in his measurement, his awareness of light and space and his use of searing chord lines.

The Warehouse Leeds Calendar

More than thirty years after first opening back in 1979, legendary Leeds music venue The Warehouse returns with an astonishing new look, sound and feel. This is the place that started it all, opening up even before the Hacienda. From the late 70’s, The Warehouse introduced a whole new culture and became the epicentre of music and clubbing in the North of England.

Having played host to some memorable bands and DJ’s over the years with everyone from Frankie Goes to Hollywood to Sugar Hill Gang, Oasis to The Stone Roses, Sasha, Greg Wilson, LFO and Mike Pickering. Whilst nights like SpeedQueen and Kaos will forever been treasured memories in the hearts of those lucky enough to go, it’s only right the club has been taken over and returned it to its former glory.

Of course, high on the agenda for the new owners has been the technology behind the light and sound systems to provide a venue that is simply untouchable in Leeds. Brand new Funktion One Dance Stacks tower above the dancefloor as well mind blowing lighting rigs, colour lasers and CO2 jets. Elsewhere, the venue has been remodelled throughout with a new layout, new chillout areas featuring leather lounge beds, state of the art DJ equipment, new dance levels, new bars, new toilets and new air conditioning. Upstairs in the Loft the walls have been blasted back to expose the brick and huge wooden beams, fireplaces and sash windows have been revealed to create a sumptuous second room.
