Love System is a brand new European festival taking place just outside the beautiful Croatian town of Petrcane, tucked into the Adriatic coastline. The vision is to create an immersive experience for avid followers of house music and all its various guises. Love System takes place in the never-before-used Punta Radman wood. AMSTERDAM OPEN AIR REVEALS LINE-UP – Saturday June 8th and Sunday June 9th

City festival presents this year’s line-up, hosting parties and the new tipi camping

Amsterdam Open Air presents a dynamic line-up again this year, representing the Amsterdam night life. Like the previous successful editions, the four main stages will be hosted by Apenkooi, Carnivale, Format and GirlsLoveDJs. They will be supported by newcomers Straf_Werk, Diepzinnig and the new stage Open AIR – BY MTV. The smaller stages will be hosted by PLAK, de Nachtspelen, SFFRMKRS, Chasing the Hihat and Baws. Besides the musical, culinary and cultural experience of the festival, a lively night program at the campsite will make its debut. 

With names including Aeroplane, Todd Terry and Flight Facilities, disco and electro will set the tone of the Apenkooi stage on Saturday. Amsterdam will be honored to welcome Belgian rave queen Raving George, treating Open Air to merciless electro. Open AIR – BY MTV has booked big names including Tiga, Hercules& Love Affair Soundsystem, Redlight and Marbert Rocel. Format will start the weekend at full throttle with heroes of techno Paco Osuna, Joop Junior and Ici Sans Merci. Format godfather Juan Sanchez will take place behind the decks on both Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday Robert Hood and Sandwell District as well as homegrown Egbert, Mirella Kroes and Kevin Arneman will be present. This year, GirlsLoveDJs will have enough DJ’s to sink a ship, including de Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, The Flexican & MC Sef and Yellow Claw.

 

Carnivale pulls out the theatrics once again and rolls out a list of names that make you applaud spontaneously: ONNO, tINI, Guti, Sneak, Cassy and indestructible tech-house artists Matthias Tanzmann and The Martinez Brothers. The new but certainly not modest hosting partners Diepzinnig and Straf_Werk have put deep-house on the Amsterdam nightlife map during the past year. With names including Benoit & Sergio and Laura Jones, these hosts are not too shy to make their first Amsterdam Open Air stages spectacular.

After the success of hosting partners de Nachtspelen and PLAK during previous editions, they have become an unmissable part of the program. A creative and intimate setting from both parties can be expected once again. Hip Hop fans can indulge at the stages hosted by new partners BAWS and SFFRMKRS. Chasing The Hihat completes the festival.

Besides lavish entertainment for the ears, there will of course be much to see and taste. The large assortment of creativity and culture by Collective Losse Schroeven, the PaardenKracht Photobooth, Gino’s Italopop Disco and many others set the mood for flirtatious endeavors. The Food Line-up dishes up an oasis of artisan caterers. These names are just a selection of the list of creative partners that can be found at the festival.

The Rock ‘n Roll Dream Hotel by Models at Work, where guests can turn their stay at the camp site into a mini vacation, will make their debut this year. The Rock ‘n Roll Dream Hotel consists of various tipis accommodating 2, 3 or 6 guests, with many amenities for maximum comfort. Guests check-in at the Dream reception, are escorted to their tipis by Models at Work piccolos and are treated to breakfast in bed by one of the beautiful Models at Work chambermaids. After breakfast, tipi guests are escorted to the festival. The Rock ‘n Roll Dream Hotel with all of its surprises is hidden away in Tipitown at the Amsterdam Open Air camp site.

Tipis can be reserved by email: popuphotel@modelsatwork.nl. After confirmation from Models at Work, the Tipi tickets can be booked for €200.00 per person through the Amsterdam Open Air website. The tipi ticket includes three nights, two breakfasts and a weekend festival ticket.

You can of course pitch your own tent or bring your camper or caravan to the Amsterdam Open Air camp site. Tickets are on sale for €79.50 which includes entrance to the festival. During the nights at the camp site, various forms of entertainment will be on the program, from 21:00 till 04:00 on Friday and from 22:00 till 04:00 on Saturday.

In short: with an exuberant festivity introducing new hosting and creative partners, a night program at the camp site and the new Tipi-camp, Amsterdam Open Air 2013 promises to surpass previous editions.

The pre-sale has started and the early birds have flown. Guests can purchase a weekend ticket for €59.50, a camping ticket for €79.50 and a camping ticket including breakfast for €94.50. The day tickets will be available on Friday March 8^th for €39.50. The camp site is open from Friday June 7^th 12:00 till Monday June 10^th 12:00.

TRESOR BERLIN:
The new incarnation of an old techno institution, Tresor Club is set in an industrial former power station spanning 22,000 square metres on Köpenicker Straße in Berlin's Mitte neighbourhood. It consists of three floors: Globus, the +4 Bar which has views of the old power station ruins and the famed basement which can be reached through a 30-meter long tunnel. During the summer, there's also a smoker's garden. The club is open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

*MORITZ VON OSWALD aka MAURIZIO:
Moritz von Oswald (born 1962), who was one half of both Basic Channel and Maurizio, is a German multi-instrumentalist who went on to become one of the most influential record producers of techno music in the 1990s.
Von Oswald was born in Berlin, Germany. In the 1980s, he was percussionist for Palais Schaumburg and Associates, but moved into electronic music by the late 1980s. He did this first in 2MB and 3MB (with Thomas Fehlmann), and later he co-founded the Basic Channel label with Mark Ernestus, whose various releases came to epitomize minimal techno.[citation needed] As part of the Berlin/Detroit axis, Basic Channel characterized minimal techno along with other artists like Robert Hood, Jeff Mills, Mike Banks, and UR. Living in Berlin, von Oswald was also part of a music scene that pivoted around the Tresor Club and record label, as well as Hard Wax, the record store founded by Ernestus. Basic Channel and Maurizio records are characterized by a 4x4 beats with dub-inflected syncopated synth pads slowly modulated over time, most 12's containing tracks that take up the entire side of each record.[citation needed] Their work was influential for Richie Hawtin, Thomas Brinkmann, Robert Henke (aka Monolake), Wolfgang Voigt, and later through artists whose records were released on the label Chain Reaction Records, part of the Basic Channel family.
His work with Mark Ernestus as Rhythm & Sound fused his interests in dub reggae and techno, where Jamaican vocalists sing or speak over stripped down techno beats and bass. His most recent releases are with the Moritz von Oswald Trio, where he 'conducts' Max Loderbauer (Sun Electric) and Sasu Ripatti, aka Vladislav Delay.[1] The Moritz van Oswald Trio released Fetch in July 2012.[2]

*OCTAVE ONE:
Octave One featuring Random Noise Generation is the brainchild of Detroit's Burden Brothers. The core unit of the band is made up of Lenny and Lawrence Burden with revolving members of Lynell, Lorne, and Lance Burden.

The band first appeared on the compilation 'Techno 2: The Next Generation' (alongside Carl Craig, Marc Kinchen, and Jay Denham) in 1990 with the track 'I Believe' and have since released over one hundred records, many on their own record label, 430 West Records. They are best known for the single 'Blackwater' featuring the vocals of Ann Saunderson, which was licenced to over thirty compilations.

Octave One have worked with such artists as Derrick May, Underground Resistance, Eddie Fowlkes, Juan Atkins, Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir, Members of the House, Terrence Parker, and The Martian. They have remixed tracks for such artists as Massive Attack, Akabu (Joey Negro), DJ Rolando (Jaguar), Steve Bug, John Thomas, The Tramps, Rhythm is Rhythm, and Inner City.

*REGIS (sandwell district) :

Karl O'Connor is most certainly Regis and it is also highly probable that he propagates other pseudonyms . This has only added to the greater mythology surrounding the influential Downwards label that he has run with fellow art terrorist Peter Sutton ( Female ) since 1993. Unconventional and single-minded to say the least ( what label can boast a back catalogue free of the industry standard cash cow remix ) by decentralising the focus on the dj/producer personality, he remains one of the more highly regarded creative forces within the British techno/electronic scene. Degenerate art indeed.

An unequivocal industry visionary, DJ Hell's career has embodied and then transcended his many guises: Anti-Superstar DJ, International DeeJay Gigolo Label Boss, GQ Man of the Year, Playboy, Jetsetter, Bon Viveur, Munich Machine, New York Muscle. Seeing, and envisioning - that is of enormous relevance to Hell. He managed to convey pure artistic prowess as well as pure style during his thirty year DJ career. The individual look, the do-it-yourself approach, the elitism. That's how it grew.

With Butterz Records masterminding Friday, we’ve got James Ruskin’s revered Blueprint imprint to curate the Saturday soiree with an unrivalled selection of driving techno from around the world. Ben Sims, perhaps one of the most famed names in techno, pioneering for his approach on the art of the mix, and his tough funk, hardgroove infused sets – has always stayed a keen involver, ever reinventing himself through a maze of labels, none more successful than his very own brainchild, Theory. With shows that are powerful, memorable and completely unique, Sims crosses the boundaries of DJing, showcasing classic and upfront techno. And for one night only, he’ll be down at the tunnels, showing you his best.

Function may be a New York boy, but his heart is in the same game as Sims’. As an evolver and pioneer of techno in New York - a sound that often gets drowned by the rest of New York’s creative exports – he has 15 years’ experience working with some of the biggest labels in the game, last month releasing a full-length named, Incubation, via Berlin’s great Ostgut Ton. Having opted for a more cinematic paradigm than any of his previous work, Function’s special live show from room one will be a spectacle worth witnessing and it's already making waves across the globe.

James Ruskin, Blueprint’s pioneer, and the man in charge of bringing the label out of its hiatus, makes an appearance on the lineup, as does Downwards Records latest prodigy, Samuel Kerridge, a man who’s already made his debut at Berghain, and now comes to Cable to bring the best in leftfield and immersive techno selections. And AnD, the Manchester based techno outfit who storm clubs with their predatory basslines and sassy percussion, blaring their own air raid siren for Techno’s second rising.

The 15th of June 2013 sees Berlin based label Steyoyoke heading south for the summer to catch a tan in Barcelona. Label artists Sasch, Soul Button and Antonio Olivieri will be showing their colours and flying the flag for Steyoyoke as they grace the city at one of its most alive and kicking times - Sonar Festival. 

Established electronic duo Silicone Soul of Darkroom Dubs and Soma Records will also be appearing alongside the Steyoyoke crew and will be eager to help raise the temperature just a little higher.

Hosted by Indigo Raw and Fuony agency, the night is set amidst the amazing surroundings of the open air architectural museum - Poble Espanyol. 

There will be plenty of fun and games to be had, with lots of free Steyoyoke gadgets available for all attendees along the way.

Nouvelle édition de la 'Meant label Night' au Showcase, déjà la 7ème, avec cette fois Chloé et Daniel Avery, encadrés par notre hôte Remain.
Déjà présente lors de la première, Chloé est donc de retour. Son soutien et son attachement pour Meant depuis la création du label, avec notamment le remix du 'Discomfort' de Remain vs Populette fait d'elle une invitée très particulière.
Côté production, on ne compte plus ses excellents EPs et remixes, sur des labels aussi qualitatifs et variés comme Bpitch Control, InFiné ou encore My Favorite Robot, et surtout ses deux albums - The Waiting Room et One in Other - sortis sur son label Kill The DJ. Elle propose en dj set une musique électronique intimiste, fantomatique, planante et rythmée, un éclectisme si singulier qui a fait d’elle l’un des artistes françaises les plus courues de la scène électronique contemporaine !
Entre Daniel Avery et Remain, c’est déjà une longue histoire d’échanges artistiques et humains par remixes interposés. Le producteur anglais a réalisé son 1er remix sous le patronyme Daniel Avery (laissant de côté son ancien moniker 'StopMakingMe') pour le titre LaRixe de Remain sorti sur My Favorite Robot. Romain lui rendra ensuite la pareille avec un excellent remixe de Airstrike sur Relish...
Considéré aujourd'hui comme l'un des meilleurs djs anglais, Daniel manie la techno ou la house comme personne. Influencé par les sets d' Andrew Weatherall, Erol Alkan, Ivan Smagghe, Ewan Pearson et Optimo, le jeune anglais aime la prise de risques et compte bien nous le faire partager sur le dancefloor.

On Sunday June 16, secretsundaze and The Secret Agency return to SONAR for their sixth annual secretsundaze Off SONAR party at La Terrrazza – the beautiful spot on the top of Poble Espanyol – and the surrounding areas of the Pic-Nic area and La Carpa by day.

Having grown in size and reputation every year, the secretsundaze event has now become THE party to go to on Sunday day and night. And now for the first time due to high demand secretsundaze are hosting the daytime session in two arenas – the beautiful, natural open-air Pic-Nic area, which they’ve used in previous years, and now also La Carpa, a unique purpose-built structure that will host a second daytime arena. The daytime event will run from the earlier time of 4pm until midnight and then the party moves, as has become custom, to the stunning, typically Spanish La Terrrazza from 11.30pm until 5am.

With the extra slots the second daytime arena brings secretsundaze offers the biggest lineup yet for their sixth year at La Terrrazza – and indeed in their nine-year history at Sonar – with 13 DJs handpicked from the impressive The Secret Agency roster.

Headlining is Chicago house legend and pioneer Chez Damier, closely followed by Delano Smith who has really raised the bar over the last 18 months since his LP 'Odyssey' release on Sushitech. Already a favourite at secretsundaze, DJ and artist Amir Alexander makes an appearance – make sure you check him! Playing exclusively for secretsundaze in Barcelona is one of the hottest young artists in the shape of Anthony Naples from Brooklyn – with every release he puts out getting mad props from all corners. 

Jay Shepheard steps up with his in-demand live set, his LP 'Home and Garden' having been released on his Retrofit label to great acclaim. Underground Paris, owner of My Love is Underground will lay down his trademark 90s sound. San Soda makes an appearance hot on the heels of his FCL hit 'Its You', and another fast-rising star Citizen comes fresh from releases on Madtech and Love Fever. See the hugely talented October, who has recently released on Aus and TANSTAAFL, Flori – who is working on his second solo EP for secretsundaze, and Youandewan – who will release the ninth secretsundaze 12' and has recently released on Hype LTD. secretsundaze’s much-loved residents Giles Smith and James Priestley will be holding it down as only they know how!

The theme for Gottwood Festival 2013 has been chosen – and it’s ‘The Wild Things’. So, what does that mean? “You are ‘The Wild Things’,” say the Gottwood organisers. “This theme is a reinvigoration, a celebration and most importantly an exploration of your imagination. We want everyone to pause, take a step back from their everyday life, leap off the edge, and wander into an unrestrained, untamed, wild and wonderful parallel mindset celebrating everything in your life that is not actually there, but is locked up top, and in most cases is rarely given a chance to flourish! We will be building an a magical backdrop of colour and vibrance, and we can’t wait for you to show us ‘The Wild Things‘.”

Electric Daisy Festival is by far one of the most iconic dance music festivals Stateside and will now bring their roadblock show to London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 20th July 201 amidst the surroundings of Englands bustling capital city.

This event is a culmination of all things epic. It’s a festival extravaganza so god damn glorious that it’s powers could alter the very fabric of time. It’s like Burning Man Festival just teleported from the Nevada desert. It’s a gargantuan power party, but mostly it’s a theatrical-tastic, spandangling, fist pumping, mind altering, sensory obliterating, motherfucking carnival…in the middle of the city.

Expect Stilt walkers, fire breathers, hot-mamma-they-can’t-be real-dancers, cheerleaders, unicorns, fire shows, fireworks, lasers, midgets, dragons, bass, dancing, light shows and a kick ass line up featuring some of the biggest names in electronic music.

A music event without pretension, full of warmth and a strong sense of community, Stop Making Sense is all about the sunshine, the people, the music, the escape. The music runs from 12 noon until 1am at the main site with its private beach, water-side dancefloor, boat parties, wine and cocktail bars and food stalls. 

From 12am to 6am Stop Making Sense goes late-night at Barbarella’s, a truly stunning state-of-the-art beach-side open-air club. An essential part of the Stop Making Sense experience, it rivals anything Ibiza has to offer, with lineups coming from the SMS crews. Thursday belongs to Love Fever, Session Victim and San Soda. Friday brings FACT with Steve Bug, T.Williams and Braiden. Saturday is Orlando Boom’s chance to shine, with Lindstrøm and Kiwi. And on Sunday it goes off with Warm closing with Âme & Dixon.

Getting to this sunshine escape in Croatia is easier than ever with many low-cost airlines flying in to the nearby towns of  Zadar and Split from all over Europe (with a 50-minute transfer – SMS provides coach transfers priced at £15 to and from the airport).
