Portugal seems to be an ever more prominent musical hotbed right now. Cementing that, once more, is the return of The BPM Festival, Portugal for a second instalment in Portimão and Lagoa on the Algarve.
The BPM Festival is an Ibiza Voice hall of fame festival, originally held in Mexico, which we have attended since its very beginning. Always ambitious, the event has developed from being North America's best kept secret from to one of the essential global festivals. Since relocating to the southern tip of Portugal, a masterstroke in terms of geography (less competition) and climate (glorious), all the original brands and acts followed them from the Americas to Europe in 2017.
Returning favourites for this year include Art Department, Apollonia, Carl Craig, Chus & Ceballos, Danny Tenaglia, Hector, Josh Wink, Lauren Lane, Lee Burridge, Loco Dice, Nastia, Nick Curly, Paco Osuna, Seth Troxler and more, while BPM Portugal debutantes include Marco Carola, Mark Knight, Nicole Moudaber, The Martinez Brothers, and Wolf + Lamb.
Label showcases and further names are to come, but its already looking like there has never been a better time to try out Portugal’s party scene than now. Running from September 20th - 23rd, the festival takes in eight venues, including nightclubs and beach side venues as well as hidden coves and grottos, towering cliffs and lush beaches. Oh, and we will bringing Ibiza Voice over for the first time, with a towering house line up, to be revealed...
