Hello party lovers and thanks for joining us, once again. The next seven days takes us up to Scotland, down to Manchester and across to Leeds via London and Birmingham. Whether you fancy a proper journey at the hands of one DJ all night long or a revival rave with one of dance music’s most enduring brands, we got you covered.
Prosumer All Night Long at The Tunnels, Aberdeen
Prosumer is now based up in Edinburgh, which is where he hosts his always educational NTS show. Formerly a close associate of Panorama Bar, he is now a free agent who plays with a widescreen remit that takes in classic house and disco. That will certainly be the case when he plays all night long in Aberdeen, and is always a DJ who manages to serve up pumping sets with a big dose of heart that keeps things from getting all too hard and macho.
Jackmaster and Eclair Fifi at The Liquid Room, Edinburgh
Jackmaster is one of the most reliable party starters in all of dance music. The unabashed big room player serves up colourful sets of bass, house, techno, classics and curveballs with a real energy and big smile. For this Odyssey season finale he is joined by fellow Scot Eclair Fifi, a former BBC Radio One show host ('In New DJs We Trust') and someone known for wild sets that reach for anything from ghettotech to hardcore.
Clandestino present Origins Barcelona at Distrkt, Leeds
Clandestino are like a northern branch of A Love From Outa Space, thanks to their machine made and rugged disco sounds. Back at Distrikt, for this one, the three DJ collective welcome Barcelona party collective Origins BCN, who themselves deal in left of centre disco and balearic sounds at Razzmatazz and Slow Club. Residents Miber and Timeleft make the trip over to Leeds for this one.
Everyone has some sort of Renaissance story, whether they went to the decadent early raves in Nottingham or copped a copy of the seminal Mix Collection, put out by Sasha & Digweed. Well now the brand is back for a big one off in a Birmingham warehouse with Sasha returning to play next to Tale of Us, Agents of Time and Marino Canal. As well as solo sets, Sasha and Tale of Us also close things down with a - sure to be special - back to back set. Epic.
Studio 338 has the best outdoor space in London. With astroturf, park benches, plenty of trees and a great sound system, it is a rare opportunity to party in the open air. This season’s events open with an all day and night party soundtracked by The Mole. 6th Borough Project, Ibiza Voice favourite Dinky, Marcel Fengler, Colin Chiddle and more.
Palms Trax b2b Antal & DJ Nobu at Hidden, Manchester
What a coup this is: three of the best selectors out there come together for a very special back to back in the intake confines of Hidden. Palms Trax is Dekmantel’s house specialist, Rush Hour boss Antal is the globe trotting crate digger who can do South African jazz as well as obscure soul, and DJ Nobu is the trippy techno titan from Japan who will take you on a mental trip. What they will come up with when playing together is a genuinely thrilling prospect.
