There is always so much hype about where to go and who to see at Off Week, but if you are more drawn to the lesser known names then we have our rundown of eclectic selects for mid June in Barcelona.
LouLou X Bunny Tiger - June 13
Kolombo strides firmly in to 2018 with a slew of world-wide gigs and releases. As far as DJ gigs go, he's in a very unique position, in that he plays outside of Europe more than inside it. Fellow mega producer and one half of Deep Dish, Sharam Jey backs him up, meanwhile Loulou Players, Betoko, Fran Bortolossi are on hand, warming things up.
Thursday sees the collaboration of two very thriving urban scenes from Spain and the UK. Mixing up elements of UK Hip Hop and Grime with Reggaeton with Baile Funk the evening is a genuine one-off. Rubbing shoulders are Nottingham duo Young T & Bugsey (live), Khaled (live), Barcelona native and Baile funk hero MC Buseta (live), AWWZ, LowProfile and Cotch Sound system.
Restoration celebrates ten years of releasing lo-fi, gritty, and balls to the wall house music. Embracing a sonic aesthetic most producers would quake over, they've truly stuck to their guns. Label chiefs The Analogue Cops are joined by beat makers Steve Murphy and DJ Octopus. Add to that the uber-intimate Macarena Club and it's game on.
The Buenos Aries born and Barcelona based collective, Diffuse Reality Records, continue their residency in the city with their Off Week installation. Promising, as ever, all things techno their loyal fanbase have to wait for both the line up and the venue to be announced. This seemingly un-phases the crew as that's just how they do things. Expect a big, homegrown, turnout.
Woomoon bring their celestial merry go round from Ibiza to Barcelona for Off Week on Saturday. Boasting a hefty line up of Damian Lazarus and Blond:ish in their day party, it's their evening party, aptly named A Trip To The Moon, that's sparking intrigue. Again, with no line up released (but this time a venue) they will descend to La Terrazza for more mayhem.
