Festival season is back and how happy are we? Very

Festival season is well underway now, with offerings up and down the country. Some are at spectacular stately homes, others the local park, but they all offer a great opportunity to start partying before lunch time and check out a range of artists from ones you know and love, to ones you’ve never heard of. Of course, clubland continues to serve up special little parties and the best of the best from the next week are rounded up here.

Jeremy Underground, Phonox, London

This party marks two things: the start of French selector Jeremy Underground’s month long residency at Phonox, as well as the Brixton club’s third birthday. In that time it has established itself as somewhere to go and hear DJs dig deep, play longer than usual and different than they might somewhere else. Joining the Frenchman known for his encyclopaedic knowledge of US house, soul and disco is My Love Is Underground label mate Inner Sense.

Tweak_ 3rd Birthday Party, Melrose, Scotland

Scottish party crew Tweak celebrate their third birthday by stepping things up with their biggest event to date. They head to Kippilaw House on the Sottish borders for it and will host across three rooms of the beautiful country manner. Local stars Dixon Avenue Basement Jams bring raw house and techno, Studio Barnhus co-founder Kornel Kovacz brings his off kilter and curveball house, grime and oddball sounds, with Domenic Cappello and Big Mix also set to pump the party next to a host of other locals.

Hope Works x Pretty Good, Sheffield

Hope Works has become a real northern powerhouse, The industrial warehouse venue offers quality line-ups of forward thinking stars each weekend, and this Saturday they link with Pretty Good for more of the same. They’ve worked on ten events before now but this will be the biggest with Ostgut Ton mainstay and Panorama Bar resident Tama Sumo headlining a bill that includes Radio 1’s In New Music host Bradley Zero, New York techno mainstay Mike Servito, local hero Lo Shea plays the likes of Laksa from Munch techno innovators Illian Tape and a whole other host of in-the-know names.

Parklife, Heaton Park, Manchester

The big news about firm Manc favourite Parklife is that this year they will host a homecoming performance from Liam Gallagher. The loudmouth plays Heaton Park for the first time since Oasis’ famous shows in 2009. He is joined by grime dons Skepta, Giggs and J Hus, indie outfit The XX, hit making machine Pharrell with his original N*E*R*D band, plus the likes of Carl Cox, Annie Mac, Solomun, MK, Marco Carola, Bicep live and DJ set, future r&b queen Kelela, diggers like Young Marco and MCDE and plenty more.

Junction 2, Boston Manor Park, London
For more info - Click here

What stands this one apart is the fact that it takes place right by a motorway bridge on the outskirts of the city. It lends the whole thing a feeling of illicit 90s rave with one stage directly under the bridge and many others spread around the greenbelt site. Hidden enclaves, rivers, fields and woodlands paths link the whole thing together, so explore as you enjoy extended sets from the likes of Dixon and Âme back to back for six hours, Len Faki, Joy Orbison, Sonja Moonear back to back with Nicolas Lutz, Scuba, Dense & Pika and many more.

Foundations 1st Birthday, Patterns, Brighton
For more info - Click here

Patterns is a jewel in the South Coast’s crown. Tonight one of their parties, Foundations, turns one, and serves up a special set to celebrate: it is a history of dubstep showcase from one of the men at the heart of the bass heavy revolution, Plastician. He spread it from its birthplace in Croydon round the world with his Rinse FM radio show, mixes and own big tunes. If you like beats around 140bpm and plenty of LFO, this is sure to be an essential and eye opening party.
