Francesca Lombardo will be playing at Club Space on August 11

As mid-summer approaches, there are events and festivals galore, so in order to alleviate the tough decision of what to do, here are our essential parties for the month of August in Miami.

Drumcell at Treehouse - August 2

If Berghain is the organism, then Drumcell is the nervous system. His dark sounds pulsate through the speakers and inspire synapses of perfect movement from the crowd. Moe Espinosa, AKA Drumcell, was born in Los Angeles and has been involved in the rave scene since the 1990s. Fast forward to today and Espinosa runs Droid Recordings. His works have been played by techno heavyweights like Chris Liebing and Speedy J. If you are looking to get away from the lighter tech-house sounds, then you surely cannot miss Drumcell at the lovely Treehouse on Miami Beach.

Green Velvet & Âme at Club Space - August 4

Very few have what Green Velvet has and even fewer know how to use it. Whether you are looking for early reboots of Chicago house or some deep and rolling techno, Velvet will have you covered. He runs Relief records, sports a green mohawk, and wears mad scientist like sunglasses. What more do you need to know? If you want something a bit more melodic and spacial, then catch Âme playing after. What we are getting at is that Club Space will have all bases covered for that evening, morning, and afternoon.

Jayda G at Electric Pickle - August 10

I can’t recall seeing a DJ so into being a DJ. Jadya G is far from those deadpan DJ’s who barely look up from the decks. She spins with aplomb and creates a fun and carefree atmosphere for the crowd (please refer to her Boiler Room set here). You can expect house, disco, and acid as Jayda G spins under the disco ball of the Electric Pickle.

TBA at Floyd - August 10

We can all vividly recall how some of our favorite shows were the ones that we had no clue about. It seems that the venue Floyd is capitalizing on this nostalgia. While no DJ is listed as of yet, Floyd is a wonderful venue. It is covered in curtains, candles, chandeliers, and bass. You will never have a bad time at the venue inside the Club Space compound.

Francesca Lombardo at Club Space - August 11

The Italian-born Francesca Lombardo is no stranger to long DJ sets. She has established connections with various record labels like Crosstown Rebels, Mobilee, and sports her own label, Echoe and Echolette. She has an infinite amount of spacey, hypnotic, and pulsating tracks for a sunrise Club Space set.

Lost_Miami at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park - August 12
For more info – click here

Known for its breathtaking scenery, the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park will host two Chicago legends, Mystic Bill and Alpha 606 on a Sunday afternoon. Expect house mixed with gentle blue waters and luscious sand. Tickets for the event are free.

Love Over Entropy at Do Not Sit  – August 17
For more info – click here

Love Over Entropy has qualities that set him apart from all the other melodic  DJ’s out there. It is gentle yet cataclysmic, hypnotic but scattered, peaceful and entropic. It is no surprise that his sounds have been picked up by the likes of Dixon and Âme. Expect a night full of surprising sounds.

Vatos Locos at Club Space – August 18
For more info – click here

Whether it is the white isles of Ibiza, the dark underground caverns of Berlin, or the early sunrises in Miami, Hector has been there. He is diverse enough to be put on both Anja Schneider label, Mobilee and Loco Dice’s Desolate. Better yet, he is often the go to resident for Marco Carola’s Music On parties in Ibiza. He is bringing his techno family to play a night at Club Space. Why would you not go to this?

Desert Hearts at Club Space - August 25
For more info – click here

In its simplest form, Desert Hearts are a tribute to House and techno, However, it runs deeper than that. Resident Advisor calls it “a movement that celebrates love, life, and music.” It is a philosophy that is worth exploring. You can expect to see the likes of Mikey Lion, Lee Reyonlds, Pork, and Marbs taking their time to thoroughly celebrate the sun and the beats.

Charlotte de Witte at The Ground - August 31
For more info – click here

Charlotte de Witte is one of the fastest upcoming DJ’s around. Carl Cox and Adam Beyer have both paid homage to her as she keeps building up a rampant touring schedule. She plays the dark, fast paced techno that we all crave on a Friday evening. Better yet this will be her Miami debut.
