Last year Wild In The Country delivered a classic festival moment with Underworld's spine-searing live performance, topped off with an ecstasy-honeymoon worthy rendition of Born Slippy. This year the Knebworth festival is setting its sites even higher with a UK festival exclusive performance from controversy stirring pop pixie Bjork. The Icelandic star never fails to dazzle and outrage and her set promises to set Wild In The Country apart from the competition.
It won't be a one-woman show, however. There are five arenas and a live stage hosting vast range of talent ranging from Richie Hawtin to the Cuban Brothers, Hercules & Love Affair to the Foals.
In deference to the vagaries of British summer there is also a brand new, fully covered chill-out area. They've also laid on free shuttle buses from nearby Stevenage station (itself a 20 minute train journey from London, so don't worry about being stranded in the middle of nowhere…) to ensure everyone arrives and leaves comfortably. Throw in all the usual festival perks: a fun fair, free lockers for your gear, food and beverage of all descriptions, a marketplace and you have a comprehensively entertaining day out. Renaissance's Tim Sander's said "The starting point for everything at Wild in the Country is the music and we¹ve gone to great lengths to programme a diverse array of acts in acredible and coherent line-up. Of equal importance is the feeling of the most fun you can have in the English countryside."
