In just 24 days, on Friday, 30 May, Bora Bora's infamous bass will start pulsing through Plajta d'en Bossa as residents Oliver Lang, Alex Miles, Will Johnston, Heath Holme, and Gordon Edge return for another season of super-charged partying...
Worried the new after-hours law will affect this Ibiza institution? Fear not. Oliver Lang assures the Voice we can 'expect great things… the place back to its old self: good music, craziness and lots of dancing.'
Bora Bora is in capable hands. Oliver's been partying there for many years, on both sides of the decks. 'I used to hang out at Bora Bora when I was a nipper. I started covering for Gee [Moore] seven years ago, before eventually becoming a resident.'
What is it that makes Bora Bora so special?
According to Oliver 'it's that moment when you walk in and you hear the bass pounding and see people going crazy on the beach… the excitement swells and you wanna get involved. It's a part of the Ibiza experience. Lots of people come straight here from the airport! It's a meeting point, a hub!'
Indeed. One whose raucous music policy attracted plenty of police attention last year but which, hopefully, will continue to run smoothly (though perhaps a little more quietly) through 2008.
So come 30th May expect to see the usual Bora Bora scenes: people wearing horse's heads, Spiderman wandering around without his pants, dreadlocked hippies, bewildered looking Brits drinking smuggled-in bottles of cheap plonk, Italians failing to apologise for stepping on your feet. Business - and mayhem - as usual…
