12pm - The gates open and the traditional curtain raiser to the Ibiza season is underway at the new and not quite so improved, but definitely legal, time of 12pm.  18 hours of non-stop clubbing exuberance, 47 artists, 7 ´destinies` (whatever exactly that means!), acrobats, stadium rock-like visual displays and live flamenco. Phew!

1pm  - The new afterhours law clearly isn't working as hardened souls from Opening's at Privilege and Eden stagger onto the Sunset Terrace after an unofficial gathering at Bora Bora beach. What an original choice of venue!

2pm - La Guardia Civil, the scary ones in olive green outside, are having a great time. Not content with sunning themselves to the sounds of the Sunset Terrace out front, they're also desperately trying to make new friends, randomly taking clubbers into a little cabin "for a chat". Please be careful everyone.

3pm - The Parking Terrace is very busy already and not for the first time today, the sound of the Mark Knight/Funkagenda remix of Laurent Garnier´s "The Man with the Red Face" causes rapture amongst the cosmopolitan crowd. Surely the tune of the day.

4pm - The Ibicenco inspired DJ line up on the Premier Etage is the place for people spotting and also where we happen to see Juan Arenas - Manager of Space playing the perfect host.

5pm - A quarter of the way through and the Space stereotypes have been aplenty. ´Captain Elbows` seems to be everywhere and a man in nothing more than a pair of orange Speedoes waltzes past; nobody bats an eyelid. Only in Space.

6pm - The Terraza and El Salón open. In the latter, Mr. Bosco loses a mix and smashes the crossfader across as Gordon Edge´s trumpet tries to disguise it. Nobody is fooled though as the Space glitterati cheer kindly; it's all smiles for Sundays at Space.

7pm - The Sunset Terrace is packed and Jon Ulysees drops Jaydee - Plastic Dreams, Tori Amos - Professional Widow and Mory Kante - Yeke Yeke in quick succession. There is a terrace vibe of yesteryear in the air.

8pm - For those turning up now, good luck. The guest list queue is half way to the airport and the nearest place to park is the airport!

9pm - As the sunsets across the Parking Terrace, Fatboy Slim plays the usual mish-mash of his own back catalogue. PLEASE PLEASE AND PLEASE NO MORE, its Space, it's Ibiza.. not the Club Med in Mexico.

10pm - Space don't let up with the promotion campaign do they? Some 3,000 free plastic fans are distributed amongst the sweltering masses bearing the artwork for 2 other big events at the club this summer, Matinée on Saturdays and Be on Thursdays.

11pm - Quick, Tongy´s on la Terraza, playing Pjano by Pryda. Easily one of the moments of the day.

Midnight - Now work this one out, the Discoteca and Terraza are full to bursting and now 6,000 people are looking to find somewhere to dance as the Sunset Terrace and Parking Terrace close. Answers on a postcard to Space please.

1am - Sasha is playing in the Discoteca; enough to cause a roadblock at the best of times.  A few voices lament the Ableton software and the distance that seems to create between fans and the man like. Then, almost as if he could hear the grumbles, a full on, epic, peaking ´Sasha` moment emerges from nowhere to silence the dissenters.

2am - There is allsorts happening in the streets of Playa D´en Bossa. There is botellón going on everywhere (google it if you don't know what it means) and the roaring trade being had by illegal taxis only evidences the need for more licenced vehicles to be allowed.

3am - A quick mention for the near 150 permanent Space employees and some 200 temporary staff on duty, making sure you have clean toilets, behave yourself and get a smile after handing over 20 euros for a drink and not getting change. Muchas Gracias.

4am - The Deep Dish duo, yes the very same duo who don't play together anymore, do play together and like men possessed too. The Discoteca transforms into a sea of bobbing heads, throbbing beats and trippy lasers.

5am - There is only one place to be now and that goes for most of the DJs as well. DT, Danny Tenaglia, prepares for his long awaited summer residency at Space with a ostentatious display in front of many of his peers…..as if he needed any encouragement! The highlight of his set being a super filtered accapella of River Ocean´s Love & Happiness.

6am - The biggest dance party the island has ever seen comes to end. An estimated 18000 people have attended what has been a truly mammoth event and Ibiza 2008 is underway in some style.
VAMOS!
