1 PRIVADO at EL AYOUN, BAR, SAN RAFAEL
I'll list this as a bar, because I always seem to just visit the bar rather than the restaurant. When I discovered Privado after a tip-off from Ibiza Voice (true) in 2004, I finally found a luxurious drinking space to rival places that I was frequenting in Miami at the time. I talk about this a lot in Pacha Magazine, but Ibiza needed to raise the style stakes and El Ayoun set the benchmark. By far the most happening bar on the island for people and comfort.
2 ES VIVE, HOTEL, FIGUERETAS
Jason Bull makes Ibiza fun, end of story. How on earth he keeps up his positivity after long nights and summers is beyond me. I can't imagine him ever getting stressed about anything, I wish I could be like that! Perhaps he should try and manage DJs or produce magazines for a week, shall we swap jobs? But seriously, I love a late-night session here. I love being mischievous and work controls so much of my life, sometimes it's nice to let loose. If I'm in Es Vive at 8am, it's because I'm super relaxed and living life to the max!
3 CAN PAU, RESTAURANT, SANTA GERTRUDIS
This was the first country restaurant I ever frequented in Ibiza and I will always have very special memories, although for many years I could never remember which of those roads leading north it was on and would get lost finding it! Carl Cox introduced me to it in 1997, we used to have big meat fests after heavy, heavy nights on the Amnesia terrace at Cream. Happy days...
4 THE ROSE, SHOP, SANTA GERTRUDIS
I always enjoy the flamboyance and culture that people from Argentina and Uruguay bring to Ibiza, two of my favourite countries in the world. And the owners of The Rose are from the latter, and have really delivered something colourful and full of character to Santa Gertrudis. Not that any of the clothes suit me, of course.
5 PACHA ROOF TERRACE, CLUB, IBIZA TOWN
It all happens up there. It's one of the hardest places in the world to walk away from. I literally have to drop my shoulder most times I go, otherwise my business the next day grinds to a halt! It's great to dip into the main room to hear what's going down, and the girls in the champagne glass, well...
6 GALY, SHOP, IBIZA TOWN
The owners of Galy are Ibiza cool personified, I love their warmth and their style. Galy keeps Ibiza up to date with high-end fashion, and as I rarely get the time to visit Matches in Richmond where I live in the UK, these guys keep me in Prada! One of life's luxuries is to drop 500 euros on some togs from Galy, but then that's the price of a bottle of grey goose and a table to some!
7 LAS DOS LUNAS, RESTAURANT, SAN RAFAEL
It breaks my heart to think about going to Las Dos Lunas since the tragic death last summer of Carlos who used to greet me every year at the entrance. I have to say that he's the first person in any restaurant in the world who would remember my name, ask me about my life, and just make me feel special. This was back in 1995, when I was 22 years old. It was always an extravagance eating here, and I go really for the ambience above anything else. I think of great dinners here with James and Scott Barton, Pete Tong, and some of my best friends in the world.
8 ES CUCONS, HOTEL, SANTA AGNES
How I adore Maria and Barbara and their partners. There wasn't a man in the world who wasn't seduced by the owners, never mind the actual hotel! It's an incredible place, very tranquil, and whilst it's amazing to see the continued development of Can Atzaro, there is just something so understated about Es Cucons that really makes me feel at one with the world whilst there. That said, I've not stayed there for five years. I need it in my life right now!
9 COCOON, CLUB, AMNESIA
It's funny, I so rarely go because I know that when I walk through those doors, the music and the vibe will mean I will not be able to leave. Sven and Richie are probably two of electronic music's most valuable artists, and the fun and community spirit around them is addictive. I've been enjoying going to Berlin to hang out at Minus events, and it's truly inspired me in the last 18 months. But I fly there just to party! Perhaps I need to do that this summer, and to hell with whatever needs doing the next day. Magical!
10 BASIL THAI, RESTAURANT, JESUS
Chinese, Japenese and Thai food is often poorly served in Ibiza, but Basil Thai amazes me every time with the flavours in the cooking. There is not a Thai restaurant in London as good as this, to the point where I rarely eat it anywhere other than Basil Thai when in Ibiza. Memorable dinners here with loved ones, and hopefully many more this summer. Massaman curry all the way.
