Seth"Through a leaking bodily cavity resembling the pork found in Chinese restaurants, Satan shat out a crystal beaming with glowing red embers. This crystal matured into the fetus of Seth Troxler" or so says Seth on his page on Ghostly International, the people who represent him.

Born in the USA, early childhood exposure to Chicago house, formative teenage years in Detroit and now Berlin resident; his own life has followed the geographic course of dance music history.

With a status assisted by the release of slick, provocative and atmospheric productions on only the coolest of labels, read Esperanza and Circus Company, his 2008 project has been the recording pseudonym Sex Trothler and the 'Sexplosion EP'.

He is also responsible, along with Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss, for the "Tesh Club" parties held in the States that have developed into a complete out there, piss taking concept. And of course there have been the gigs at establishments like Bar 25, Watergate, Robert Johnson & Batofar.

A futuristic sounding artist with a good time personality, we go hush-hush confidential with the indomitable Seth Troxler.

1)   Where do you call home?
Where the heart is? I guess Berlin right now.

2) Were you happy as a child?
My childhood was rad! I was a bit poor but had everything I needed. I was into riding horses with the black cowboys association and I played sports and laughed all the time, such good memories. I was an only child, so I played a lot on my own, which I would say is a key factor in the development of my wild imagination.

3) How much did your childhood help you in becoming an artist?
Because of my mother being into the arts and exposing me to so many things culturally as well as my step father being so into music, I think there is a direct link to me being the person I am today.

There was never any pressure put on me with the arts, it was something that I was encouraged to do but never stressed about (unlike sports which I quit for music).  My mother's best friend's "life partner" growing up was in this big reggae band at the time, the 'Jah kings', so we would go to the farm where they lived and other places the band would play, shows and festivals and so on, which I can now say had a huge influence on me being a performer. Their kids were always musically more talented then I was, however, musical expectation was so high with them while I never had any and felt my passion for it so early when I started with techno, there was no risk of failure. In Detroit no one was going anywhere anyway so it was just a hobby, which I think allowed me to grow, even today I'm just having a blast doing what I love, nothing more.

anim4) What or who is the biggest inspiration in your life?
I think my friends are my biggest inspiration, I'm lucky to be close with a lot of talented artists who push me with their work and words. It's amazing because there is no competition and with some of their careers going so well it gives me ability to dream and know I can achieve more, as long as I keep on enjoying what I do and giving it my all. I love how sappy all these questions are.

5) Children, yes or no?
One day. I hope to kick out a few, and make them AWESOME!

6) Who is your idol and why?
A mix between my grandfather Charles Burton, my godfather Sf. Kapoor, Ryan Crosson and Ryan Elliott - By far the most honest, sincerest and all around people I've ever meet in my life. My grandfathers morals were so amazing being half Cherokee Indian and African American growing up in the depression he had seen some crazy times but the man knew right from wrong and was huge in raising me, I'll never lose what I gained from him. My godfather was the most intelligent man I've ever meet; a professor at Western Michigan University he give me a huge jump into understanding the power of knowledge - brillant.

As far as Ryan Crosson, wow, that's all I can say and Ryan Elliott is the man the people who write GQ dream to be, as well as one of the best DJ on the planet. Can I throw in a little dash of Obama? just cos.

7) Do you believe in fate or God?

I believe in fate at some level and I believe in a higher power at some level but j Christ, or diamond J as I like to call him and religion. No way.

8) Which artist or track did you think was no good but became successful?
Oh god, Ha! There are a lot of tracks or artists who become successful because of good business plans or amazing hooks. We all have different taste and that's cool. Does it sadden me that some "artists" go to a producer or engineer and have them pump out hits while guys like me work years to get where we are musically? Yes. But my level of saltyness depends on how that artist's attitude is post using other peoples work as their own.

But that's how the entertainment and music business works and that's how it will always work. It's who you know and how you can market it. And I'm not saying I haven't been able to get where I am by who I know, but at least I make my own tracks and I'm funny to hang out with. I'm not saying but I'm saying...

9) One thing you hate about dance music culture...?
Ok, you try to meet a good girl at the club and because you're a DJ, she thinks you're a total scum bag. wtf is that all about, and why is it so true. snarf.  Just kidding!!

10) Last club you went to party at, rather than to play?!
There is no club I love to party at more on the planet then Club der Visionaere in Berlin, to me it's perfect. This little club on the river, it's not even really a club just a dock with a small room that fits about 80 and willow tree. Great music, great people. You can hang out, you can party, and you can eat the best pizza in Berlin. Perfect by all standards. it's for adults, adult contemporary if you will.

11) If you were interviewing yourself, what question would you ask and what would the answer be...
Q-  How long till people figure out your not any good?
A-  When is this coming out again?

12) What is your philosophy towards life?
Why not?!

13) What do you want to plug/promote?
My new Crosstown ep 'Love Never Sleeps', I really love Ryan Crosson's new ep on wagon repair as well as the DJ working of Bill Patrick and Shaun Reeves.
And if there are any nice girls who thinks I'm cute please contact me via my myspace, I'm getting quite lonely in Europe.... (Did I mention I wear a size 46 shoe, that's like 12 in America) winks. And also a book by Matt Tolfrey even though he's a dick...
