If there's a factory which routinely takes average musicians and magically transforms them into "superstar DJ's" then there's a good chance it's located somewhere in the Netherlands. The birthplace of trance gods Armin van Buuren and Tiesto is also home to Fedde le Grand, who this season brings his Flamingo Nights parties to, you guessed it, Pacha. Only in dance music could a man known solely for one successful production carve out such a lucrative career. The track in question is of course Put your hands up for Detroit , which together with Samim's Heater  holds the unwanted distinction of being both the islands most loved and hated production of the past few seasons.

Ever the purveyors of all things commercial, the combination of Pacha and Fedde le Grand couldn't be further away from the infamous eerie techno sound of Detroit. The Pacha crew are promising a live show with accompanying special effects and light shows that will "turn Pacha on it's head", telling us that we "haven't seen anything quite like it." Having lost former leading light Roger Sanchez to Amnesia, that's some bold statement.

Guests for the season are predominantly stars of the electohouse genre and include Man with the Red face remixer Mark Knight, Swedish youngster John Dahlback and New Yorker Armand van Helden, who seems to be having a career renaissance on the back of his work with British rapper Dizzee Rascal. Considering last years guests included Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas (who combined with le Grand to produce the most cringe-worthy rap-dance combination since Diddy and Felix) and everyones favourite bald vegan Moby, we'll consider this year a significant improvement then.

Fedde Le Grand presents Flamingo Nights - 'New Life' commences at Ibiza's most famous nightspot on the 16th June. According to the promoters, "If there is one word to sum up Pacha then it would have to be 'original' which is why we know it to be the only place in Ibiza where Fedde, Funkeman, Flamingo and crew can do their thing." Indeed.
