They've been established all of fifteen years, though you wouldn't necessarily know it. By 2009 however, 20:20 Vision have cemented their position as one of the UK's most prominent house music labels.

With label showcases this summer at Ibiza's notorious Zoo Project as well as at the hub of electronic music, Barcelona's Sonar festival, Ralph Lawson and co. have certainly come a long way from their humble Leeds northern English roots. In a city so often typically associated with the woes of the local withering football club, this imprints diverse musical spectrum provides a breath of fresh air.

And boy, they done well. From the ubiquitous success of Simon Baker's Plastik on sublabel Infant to the Mannheim tinged sounds of 2020Soundsystem's Sliding Away, it's clear that 20:20 is a label intent on releasing quality over quantity, which makes for a refreshing change from some of its German counterparts.

Set up by friends Ralph Lawson and Carl Finlow, the imprint's reputation for techno smashes is as impressive as the artists they have on board; from disco fiends Crazy P to We Love Sunday @ Space resident Paul Woolford.

According to the guys themselves, the emphasis for the label "is on diversity and long tern development. We aren't looking for bandwagons to jump on or the next big chessy hits, it's al about quality round these parts, and, of course, the funk." Ah, the funk. An essential component of the success of 20:20. For these guys, running the label is a true labour of love. Although according to themselves, "They're miserable northern bastards." The bastard child of techno and funk obsessed parents it seems....

To celebrate 15 Years of success, the guys are releasing a special release, Stacey Pullen's 2020 Vision; an album with all the imprints most celebrated productions as well as current releases. In addition to this, they'll also be broadcasting on the White Isle on Ibiza Sonica 95.2 FM every Friday and Saturday. No sign of Ralph and the crew letting their hair down so. Here's to another fifteen.
