Defected celebrates it’s seventh  season in Ibiza with a unique 2 disc mix, Defected In The House:  Ibiza 09, courtesy of London’s Copyright and M People veteran  Shovell the Drum Warrior.

“We wanted to try and replicate the Ibizan experience….hopefully  people can put this CD on and get a taste...” says Sam Holt, one  half of dj duo Copyright.

The first mix, “Dia”, provides the laidback grooves essential to  post-party beach jaunts and disco sunrises. Highlights of the first disc include the exclusive track ‘Sinfonia Della Notte’ from NYC based soulful house mastermind, Dennis Ferrer, Lisa Millet”s ‘Say Yes’, Copyright’s edit of the essential Harry Choo Choo Romero  tunes ‘Cumbia’ and a special Kenny Dope remix of P’taah’s  ‘Dance Until We Die’ featuring vocals by Brooklyn based  Cubic Zirconia’s own uncanny electro-wave vixen Tiombe Lockhart.

The second disc, “Noche”, steps up the tempo and reflects the vibe that carries you deep into night. The mix showcases tracks like Julien Jabre ‘Vicious Circle’ (John Dahlbäck Club Mix), Armand Van Helden’s ‘Witch Doktor’ (Eddie Thoneick Remix) and David Penn & Rober Gaez ‘What Is House?’

To truly bring the Ibiza experience into your headphones, Copyright enlists M People veteran, prolific percussionist and Ibiza club staple, Shovell. Shovell tastefully applies tribal rhythms and  timeless grooves to what will be the hands-in-the-air summer anthems of 2009. This is not your average dj mix. By bringing in Shovell and masterfully crafting a two disc mind melting experience, Copyright has taken more of a studio production approach to this compilation.  “That’s how much time we’ve put into making this, it’s a sixty minute track in a way.” – laments Sam Holt.
