Between Loco Dice and studio partner Martin Buttrich, Desolat's reputation for releasing quality underground music, shows no signs of wavering. It's hard to believe that a label founded only two years ago has already achieved such success, due in no small part to the popularity of Dice's 7 Dunham Place as well as Sebbo and Moritz von Oswald's Watamu Beach.

Keeping true to their reputation as innovative folk, comes the Vinyl only DesolatX003, or to me and you Yaya's Vecute. With everyone from Villalobos to Luciano sampling music from far afield, it's a tried and tested formula which seems to guarantee dance floor success right now.

Vecute takes cue's from Villalobos's Easy Lee and Enfants. While Luciano and Villalobos embraced their Chilean background's in the search for new unique sounds, Yaya's story however, is a much different one, and is as much a part of Vecute as the production itself.

Raised in Turin, Italy, Yaya's father was the lead vocalist and percussionist for M'Bamina, a band consisting of musicians from Benin, Zaire, Italy and Cameroon. Melody and percussion then, has always played a pivotal role in his upbringing, a  fact which is evident on Vecute.

Vecute is no more than a haunting minimal-ish melody, complimented by some seriously eerie noises. At this stage, there is nothing particularly unique about sampling such sounds, but when they're constructed in the manner of Vecute, the result is one which is suited to both heaving dance floors and early morning afterparties alike.
