Could this have caused more of a stir already? From the first rumblings last summer it was evident that wherever Luciano chose to lay his hat, it was destined to be a controversial home. Avoiding offers from all other major contenders, Pacha eventually tempted the Swiss-Chilean maestro of all things techno to a Sunday night slot that they've always had an issue getting filled.

So step aside Fetish & Flower Power, and welcome to the most underground and commercially risky move the dinosaur of discotheques has taken in the last 10 years. Is it enough to bring the veteran up to date with the Berlin Panorama massive? Can the Man Like Luciano really drag his crowd out on a Sunday pre-Cocoon/Circo into the unexplored territory of Pacha? Only time will tell.

A quick look at the line up released this week however, proves that this is no one-man show. This is no sitting back and waiting for the folks to follow a DJ. Aside from boasting some of the finest and most self-satirical artwork seen this side of summer, Cadenza have pulled in the favours when it comes to booking their acts. There's all the usual crew you'd expect - Reboot live promoting his Shunyata album at the opening, Cleis, Mirko Loko, Van Dowski et al, plus a few new members to the family picked up this winter - Robert Dietz, Picone, Merveille, Antona, Ernesto Ferreyra. Then there's a healthy amount of 'poaches' – from other island promoters who will be licking wounds or swallowing pride – Carl Craig, Guillaume &  the Coutu Dumonts, dOP, Henrik Schwarz, Daniel Bell, Martinez, Mathias Kaden, Tobias.,  Dandy Jack, all of whom  might be worth the entrance fee to be seen in another venue.

Then of course there's the exclusives... Moodymann, Theo Parrish, DJ Koze, Danton Eeprom whose shows won't be caught anywhere else in Ibiza this summer.  Luciano? Well yes, we've all seen a lot of him on this island, but he does bring along a pretty impressive guestlist.

The whole event of course, will begin much earlier in the day, with an outlandish pre-party at Ushuaia Beach Club from 2pm with many of the above invitees and more. You'd have to have been dead under a stone to have missed what happened there last year... but by no means be misled... Cadenza mean parties far beyond the beach.
